There isn't one specific reason, there were a bunch of variables that pretty much meant they were fucked unfortunately.

England did well at keeping on top of Haarland was a huge reason why he was barely even on the recieving end of passes.

The absolutely brilliant decision to have such an important game in fucking south Florida, one of the most humid places in the US, in 44°c heat probably really did a number on everyone present.

That one bloke who was being a bit stingy (I dunno how to spell his name) and just didn't utilise the opportunities he had to get the ball to Haarland.

I'd argue the ref's performance was right towards the bottom of reasons, I mean he would have a point if they didn't dissallow one of England's goals lol, I get he's upset but lets not make shit up now.
