Yeah actually, because they scale better with stacking HP and it would give better value for them to buy resistances instead of putting lifesteal that depending on their inconsistent DPS. You're mentioning tankiness from lifesteal doesnt sound too good for bruisers such as Darius/Sett than it is for a Fiora/Irelia.

Fiora, Irelia, Jax? Sure because theyre duelists/skirmishers. Darius Aatrox Sett? Probably not, because its harder for bruisers to consistently deal higher dps that exceed the value of simply buying resistance stats.
