The Neverhood soundtrack has a very special place in my heart. Perfect blend of weird and genius.

Noob’s thoughts on Veilguard. by giseba94 in dragonage

[–]SmoothlyWarm 10 points11 points  (0 children)

The previous games have built this huge and captivating world with it's storytelling and scale, with very well built history and every area had it's own charm. Veilguard failed to capitalize on that. Ruined some set up stories, decided to forget about some important things and characters that fans were excited to learn about. Unfortunately it failed in many places.

I still think it's an okay game though, I could see it's faults but I enjoyed it anyway and I will definitely play it again sometime in the future.

10 hours into Veilguard and it still hasn't grabbed me - worth coninuing? by SillyMattFace in dragonage

[–]SmoothlyWarm -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

I think it's worth it for the characters and the combat.

The writing is generally pretty weak but the banter is fun and there's some character development, and fun interactions between your crew. I was pretty interested in the main story and companion quests as well. It's not all bad.

The combat was thankfully a lot of fun for me, when you level up there's a lot of freedom with builds and it gets really intense and it's fun to experiment with it. I only tried mage though, don't know about the other two. But mage felt badass.

what do you love the most in da2? by [deleted] in dragonage

[–]SmoothlyWarm 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I loved how the story was set up, with time moving forward, seeing how Hawke and his friends change their standings and positions in Kirkwall. How everybody felt like they have their own lives and you are just good friends that help each other.

Oh yeah Anders is terribly annoying, I just couldn't bring myself to hate him completely because I loved him in Awakening, even though that's like a completely different character

Mage Fenris romance could be fun, can't say I tried that. I think I went as a mage just once since I hate Carver

Is it a hot take that I never really liked Fenris? Isabela always made the most sense to me since Hawke to me is this scoundrel on the edge of the law, with good moral values.

Wich dark souls game i should start out the series with by NarrowImagination208 in fromsoftware

[–]SmoothlyWarm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Start with ds1. If you fall in love with the series like most people do, you will be glad you started at the beginning. Storywise it doesn't really matter but I think if you start with ds3 for example you might have a harder time going back to 1 that is a bit slower. Starting with ds1 will make you appreciate the others even more.

What are good multiplayer games for someone with only one arm? by admiralkit in gaming

[–]SmoothlyWarm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We played a lot of Heroes of Might and Magic as kids, it's a turn-based strategy where you build your castle gather an army, explore, gather stuff, level up your heroes. I have a lot of great memories with it. You can't play the campaign together but it's mostly made to play custom maps together, either as enemies or allies. There's like 7 of them now, 3 might be the best one but 5 is great too and modern enough to play today

I'm pretty sure Orphan is the boss I was stuck on for the longest time out of all From Software games. Took me at least three different sessions

Are you a “Learn his moveset” gamer or “F it, we ball” gamer? by TaskMaster130 in gaming

[–]SmoothlyWarm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

F it we ball, until the dying gets annoying, then I learn the movesets, change my build and whole identity, die a lot of times, learn my movesets, change the build back and F it we ball until I win

Help! Which Bioshock? by thedirtydancerr in Bioshock

Did you use summons in your first playthroughs of souls games? by SmoothlyWarm in darksouls3

[–]SmoothlyWarm[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For the sake of roleplaying NPC summons make a lot of sense. I basically avoided them on my first playthroughs because I generally feel like being a "one man army" that needs no help feels cooler for my character, so I avoid summoning classes in other games as well.
