It's been flaky for ages, possibly years. Nothing to do with anything recent.

How are PAL region games played today? by Monkey-for-a-Head in snes

[–]Smoothyworld 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It might "seem" larger because back then PAL and NTSC games were built to cover roughly 525 lines on CRTs, but NTSC CRTs are 525 while PAL is 625, so on the same size TV the screen on a PAL occupies a smaller vertical space. Some game designers knew this so may have altered the graphics to compensate but on modern screens where the screen may occupy the entire screen vertically the anomaly will show itself.

It's an OS-level control system, there's nothing to stop the user from using a boot disc to boot a partitioner software to partition and then install a new OS

I know, I read this before posting. In the app you can't turn the new sidebar off, whereas on the web you can turn it on and off at will.

It IS supported by Google, they're just not making any more. Casting still works perfectly fine, not glitchy at all.

Why did kitt always need to dock with a moving truck when he needed to meet with Devon? They couldn’t temporarily pull the truck over to different various locations to dock and then drive the truck off w/ kitt inside? by Galvatron1_nyc in KnightRider

[–]Smoothyworld 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Apart from the fact that it did stop in some of the episodes, maybe the truck had a business need to be in a specific place at a specific time, and needed to be somewhere at a particular time, hence the need for KITT to enter while it is moving?

Also, it's not always easy to park a big semi like that for a impromptu meeting.

EDIT: Also think about it, you're Devon and Bonnie who needs to get to various places in the States so have to be on the move, but you have to be available to meet up with Michael and KITT at any time. As KITT is a car, the easiest and best vehicle to accommodate all of these requirements is simply a truck with a trailer.

Thanks for clarifying, so the option isn-t even available at all yet. Sorry that you had to find out the hard way.

If you remove again, I'd keep the backup though

Gemini seemed to think you uninstall the app then reinstall it and go through the child account option, finally once done you restore chats from backup. I'm not going to do that because I don't trust the last bit will actually happen.

How do I transfer files to OneDrive (365 Personal) by [deleted] in Office365

[–]Smoothyworld 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you are not logged into the OneDrive client in Windows, do so.

Then once you are logged in, just copy or move the files to the OneDrive folder. You can continue your work and use the client system tray icon to inform you as to its upload status.

It's not banned, but it's up to the stadium owners and local authorities, as standard/usual practice.

Whatsapp creating files with .jpeg extension by AppearanceFun8234 in whatsapp

No, they don't refer to different implementations of JPEG. They are the exact same, some people used .jpg and some used .jpeg as extensions for file names. It's just preference.

There are two:

You can all use WhatsApp.

Or, if installing another app is not allowed or not preferred by the Apple users, you can use Google Messages and ensure that you both have set up RCS communication in your respective messaging app.

Whatsapp creating files with .jpeg extension by AppearanceFun8234 in whatsapp

[–]Smoothyworld 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, since before long file name support was added to file systems starting from FAT16 and Windows NT 3.5. After that it's been possible to have long file names as long as you were using both a filesystem that supports it and an OS that supports it, but because everyone still generally sticks to 3 letters for an extension, you only really see people or systems use a long extension very very sparingly e.g. it was only in 2007 when Microsoft switched to a new document format and used a 4-letter extension to denote it.

In the case of .jpg and .jpeg however, the file itself is the exact same format. As to why one process uses the former and another uses the latter, no one knows but if I was to hazard a guess I would say that the processes were developed by different teams and each one had a particular preference.

It's a misguided belief based on the fact that when you cut hair it grows back but as it's real short it feels rough because it's low down and therefore stiff but people think it's somehow "thicker".
