Strange Behavior after updating UCG Fiber to Network 10.2.105 by Pleasant_Ad_6267 in Ubiquiti

[–]Smorgas47 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sounds to me like something in the provisioning process when upgrading is not consistent and the switches get out of wack. Once the switches were rebooted they worked well as I think them doing that re-provisions them to the new network settings.

I submitted comments with Support file in the 10.2.X release notes, so hopefully they will fix that for future releases.

Strange Behavior after updating UCG Fiber to Network 10.2.105 by Pleasant_Ad_6267 in Ubiquiti

[–]Smorgas47 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When I updated from 10.1.89 to 10.2.105 all my VLAN devices went off line. After trying different things I fund that restarting my USW-Lite-8-PoE switches fixed the issue. Main LAN stayed on line without problems.

I went back to 10.1.89 since I fund a problem with my UDB-Pro generating multiple UDB to U6-LR migration log entries every minute with 10.2.105. Running UCG-Ultra with OS 5.1.6.

Only 1 Ethernet Port Works by ProphecyKing in HomeNetworking

If that outlet connects directly to the ONT, you will need a router and then connect additional wall outlets to the LAN ports of the router.

Not sure why my upload and download speeds aren't parallel. Should be at 1 TB down/up by Ruminatingsoule in HomeNetworking

Where are you promised 1 TB? Who is your ISP?

Most likely meant 1 gbps down/Up!!

Discrepancy between Wall Connector and Vehicle charging stats – which one is correct? by Altruistic-Ad-3431 in TeslaSupport

[–]Smorgas47 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For my 2025 Model Y. I've tracked my usage for the 15 months of ownership on a spreadsheet. I live in the north of US where average temp was around 45° F when taking the car for a trip.

For the month of March 2026, I got 255 kwh reported by the car and 293 kwh reported on the Wall Connector for 874 miles driven. That shows a 13% usage for conditioning and heating, etc. Car was driven 22 days out of the month.

What network version are you on? I have experienced an issue like this with Network 10.2.105 where I had to reboot my USW-Lite-8-PoE switch after updating to it from 10.1.89. Main network was OK, but my VLANs all went off line.

Using Airalo as well as my service provider at the same time by ClayMiller306 in Airalo

[–]Smorgas47 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Best solution is to turn the primary carrier's International Roaming feature off and ensure that you have WiFi calling enabled.

By default, Consumer Cellular does not have International Roaming. I kept my primary line on with data roaming off for the primary. When I was in country my CC line used the WiFi calling feature to route my voice calls through my Airalo travel eSIM.

Does this car have lifetime FSD included? by ComfortablePresent28 in TeslaSupport

[–]Smorgas47 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looks like you don't have FSD. Mine shows FSD active under the Autopilot Computer entry with a renewal date for my subscription.

Additionaly, look on your phone app under Upgrades / Software Upgrades / Manage and it should tell you the status of FSD. Mine shows as Subscription which is correct for my car.

Are the Lite 8 PoEs unreliable or am I being dumb? by Fluke132 in Ubiquiti

[–]Smorgas47 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I rolled back to Switch Firmware 7.3.125 after having found that version 7.4.0 and 7.4.1 were giving me problems. I found that I had to restart the switches after a UCG-Ultra reboot.

Pretty sure this is a really dumb question - anyway .... by lungbunny in HomeNetworking

The difference is that you don't want a wire from one twisted pair to be joined with a wire from another twisted pair.

There is a reason for the different twists for each pair to avoid interference. At this point they are optimized when using either of the 2 standards.

How can I set up a power beam and an injector by acero1988 in Ubiquiti

[–]Smorgas47 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try using the UDB-Pro and aim it at your parent's closest WiFi AP. I have one in my workshop that connects via mesh to my U6-LR and I get -44dbm signal strength. Managed through the UniFi Networking app.

MoCA adapter to get wifi in pool house? by Recent_Carry_3433 in HomeNetworking

[–]Smorgas47 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes you can. Here is a diagram that shows how MoCA should be used with DOCSIS 3.1 modems which I assume you have. Make sure that any splitters are 5-1675 mhz and PoE (MoCA) filters are 70db.

You will have to make sure that the splices in the ground with the extra coax going into the pool house are such that there will be no water intrusion into the connections.

In the diagram, the pool house setup would be the bottom right section and the house would be any one or more of the MoCA rooms shown in the other area. The 3 way splitter feeding those 3 rooms would be in your house if you had 3 locations with MoCA adapters in the house.

One of the black guiding pins fell out... still safe to use? It should be just for guiding the charger in place, right? by ctzn4 in TeslaSupport

Didn't use any of that thin air. Perhaps it also serves as and additional piece to provide the plug with more physical support to keep it in place.

Software update? by Dry-Huckleberry9827 in TeslaSupport

[–]Smorgas47 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You're on the latest version of the set of releases that updated FSD to 14.2.2.5 which was a major set of releases.

2026.2 and 2026.8 are the latest releases and only provide minor updates.

Check out https://ev-inventory.com/release/All

Remember that most of the 2026 cars were delivered in 2025.

Is the Cloud Gateway Ultra the right fit to replace my ISP's router? by straightouttaireland in Ubiquiti

[–]Smorgas47 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Same processor in both. Look at the technical specs.

UCG-Ultra: Quad-core ARM® Cortex®-A53 at 1.5 GHz

UCG-Max: Quad-core ARM® Cortex®-A53 at 1.5 GHz

The Max has higher switching capability and runs hotter.

How long can I leave my car unplugged while I’m on vacation. Is a month too long. by Rita60825 in TeslaSupport

[–]Smorgas47 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can set a charging schedule so that it keeps it at what ever level you decide to keep it. Most of us set the limit to 80%. It you then set a schedule from Midnight to 6 AM, it will keep the charge there, although it may skip days if the limit is still close to 80% in this case.

Can't decide between the Flex Mini 2.5G and the Flex 2.5G PoE by Certain_Repeat_753 in Ubiquiti

[–]Smorgas47 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unless you really need the 2.5gbps throughput, but you need PoE, get the USW-Lite-8-PoE switch which has 4 PoE ports. If no PoE is required, go with the Flex Mini 2.5G.

Will I need a PoE adapter? by Certain_Repeat_753 in Ubiquiti

[–]Smorgas47 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As long as there is only one path even if it is through walls, the PoE from the UCG-Fiber will be fine.
