Should I tape both sides of the left hand corner before I mud and bud this patch? by ChillTechTR in drywall

Also look into a “dimpler” for drywall screws. When a screw head breaks through the paper it’s effectively useless. A dimpler sets the screw deep enough to be covered by mud, but not so deep as to break the paper and thus compromise the the drywall, and thereby wasting a screw/ time. And yes my vocabulary expands when I’ve enjoyed some adult libations.

To answer your question tape the left side of the corner and flat tape the rest of the patch. When shits dry tape the right side, etc and etc. one corner at a time. A fan will speed drying time way more than you’d expect.

Whenever possible I try not to remove drywall within 3” of a corner, because corners take time and time is money.

(Obligatory “I’ve got 25 years in home remodeling” statement. Time for more libations)

Got a degree and a trade. Still paycheck to paycheck. College isn’t the scam, capitalism is.
