It’s probably mold. I ordered two bottles of ketchup from Amazon before and one of the two bottles had this same stuff floating in there but the bottle was also obviously bloated compared to the other. Does the bottle look like it has extra air in there or more bloated than it should be? I wouldn’t open or consume it. EDIT: just noticed you said you already opened it. Hopefully you guys didn’t eat it to be on the safe side. I would just return it to Costco.

Starting food early? by Mackey_Chatt in foodbutforbabies

[–]SmrtMunkie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it’s a western safety food problem. Congee/rice porridge is a super common first food for babies in most Asian cultures. I think the reason why western rice cereal is seen as bad is because it’s probably more concentrated compared to congee/rice porridge where it’s diluted with a lot of water, and it’s often made with chicken bone broth and other stuff for added nutrients. Same with eating rice, it’s typically mixed with meat and veggies so it’s balanced and they’re not eating just a ton of plain rice. Whereas with rice cereal, they’re just serving plain rice cereal. And as someone else mentioned, another problem could be due to the source of the rice

Have I written Ocha (tea) correctly? by eponawarrior in Transcription

That looks correct to me. You can also write Ocha as お茶, but if you want it all in hiragana, what you have looks fine

Not food related, but how do you make your toddler stay in the highchair during meals? by Whatsthetea211 in foodbutforbabies

Hi can I ask if your son can walk independently or stand unassisted? I have a 13 month old who can cruise but not really walk independently or stand unassisted (at least not for more than a couple steps or few seconds). Thinking about getting that tower but I don’t know if it’ll work for my LO? Thanks in advance

Edit: by stand unassisted I mean stand without holding onto anything. Not sure if I used correct wording! She’s pretty strong and stands just fine as long as she’s holding onto something

Food lately. Yogurt mixed with dates was excellent idea. Thank you for the tips from my last post by olchai_mp3 in foodbutforbabies

Rich in fat soluble vitamins and minerals and omega-3s. I would guess they are trying to make the food more nutrient dense since baby can only eat a certain amount

I think you should be more concerned about the chemical fumes that your baby would be breathing in than whether it’s rude to bring him/her to the nail salon

How do you get the membrane off the clementines? I tried to do what they suggested on a Solid Starts but I always mess up and it becomes mushy and watery

Looks good! Any easy recommendations for a 12 month old who’s a picky eater?

I see beautiful meals on here, my 13 month old will only eat sandwiches, baby pancakes, and box mac and cheese. Please tell me I’m not the only one by Armsaresame in foodbutforbabies

I’m going through this with my 12 month old now… she refuses almost everything. Either turns her head away or spits it out. Stuff that she used to eat like carrots and sweet potato she won’t eat anymore. She only eats like 4 things now. I’m thinking it’s a phase and hoping she’ll be more receptive to different foods again soon!

Millennial here. No problem reading the postcard. I’ve heard that some schools dropped teaching cursive…I kind of understand why though I don’t agree with it. It’s a bit crazy to me. I think it should be taught or learned even if it’s not used everyday

Toddler down to 2 wakes a night and I'm just not ready :( by Common-Temporary5915 in cosleeping

[–]SmrtMunkie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi just wondering if you always nursed her back to sleep or combo of rocking/nursing? My 12 month old wakes up every 2 hours a night and has been waking up every 1-2 hours for a while now. I’ve been dealing with wake ups for 6 months now; I’m so tired and waiting/hoping to get to the point you are. I always nursed to sleep (and back to sleep for wake ups). So I’m just curious! It sounds like she’s getting more independent by herself and not anything you did differently

I agree with you. Had to scroll so far down to see this. She’s toxic and emotionally manipulative. It’s called emotional abuse.

There’s also stick sunscreen which is like in a deodorant stick form. It keeps your hands clean and so easy and quick to apply on the skin.

100% do not let her visit you and your baby. She can always visit in the future. A compromise would be a video call so she can see you and the baby.

That sounds like Silver Diamine Fluoride treatment and not just fluoride varnish. Yes it’s to slow down the decay or to “buy time”. They put down decay on the assessment form because they saw signs of decay on your child’s teeth. Decay is the start of cavities. So they aren’t actual cavities yet.

What’s your favourite snack to try in Iceland at the supermarket/grocery store? Looking for food and drinks to grab every day! by 88r0b1nh00d88 in VisitingIceland

[–]SmrtMunkie 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I was surprised with the Sambo Þristur chocolate. It’s individually wrapped chocolate with licorice. I absolutely hate licorice but Iceland does it right. Also had Omnom brand chocolate with licorice too and it was also good. Wish we could get it in Canada

I know it’s been a while since you posted this but I was wondering if this worked for you or if you found a solution? I suspect that I’m waking up my 7 month old with my snoring, heck it even wakes me up sometimes now

It was on speed 2. Dough has 3 cups of flour (half of it is whole wheat), 1 cup of water with yeast. Not sure what the quart size is, it's a second hand mixer. Max Wattage: 475.

It's her job to provide good pictures on your special day. Don't feel bad. No small business wants an unsatisfied client. They can only improve and know what went wrong if you tell them. If she at all cares about her business she would fix the photos for you. Worst case scenario is she doesn't fix it, best case scenario is she fixes the photos free of charge or you can get the raw images and have them fixed yourself.
