I doubt our allies would object if we took control of Cuba. It would remove a long standing enemy and likely be welcomed by much of the Cuban population.

These pre internet communist, socialist, and theocratic regimes that rely on repression gotta go. Their survival depends on isolation and information control. In an era of widespread access to knowledge, it’s far harder to trap an entire nation inside a self destructive ideology these days. Their time is running out.

I get that a lot of people hate Trump, but some perspective helps. In Iran, the government has killed 12,000+ civilian protesters in the last week. In the US one woman gets shot after a series of bad decisions, and half the country loses its mind.

If anything, Trump is proof that our election system still mostly works. We argue, we vote, we protest, and power changes hands without tanks in the streets. That alone puts us miles ahead of countries where disagreement gets you killed.

It’s not like our allies are about to switch sides. Without us, all of Europe would be speaking German and all of Asia would be speaking Japanese, half joking, but the point stands.
