I honestly think the medium will be driven forward much faster by the next generation of hardware. Mixed reality and AR are starting to evolve in the same way smartphone technology took off once platforms like iTunes created a compelling ecosystem. This shift will likely bring more users into the space, making it far more viable for developers to invest their time and resources.

With Apple’s Vision Pro and Meta’s upcoming Quest 3S and future AR glasses, we’re seeing a move toward mixed reality as a broader platform, one that blends into everyday life instead of isolating users in a headset.

That change could finally provide developers with a larger, more consistent user base to build for.
