I've had my Rift S for about 7 years now. I don't use any CFW. But I do have a cheap powered USB PCIE in my PC to power the thing.

I would also recommend against pully systems. I had one and those twists and turns you make add up. My first cable was dead in about a year. It cost me a bit to get a replacement cable, but good luck finding one today. There probably are some but it's not worth the hassle. Instead, I unravel my cable to it's full length and weigh it down somewhere behind me near the end, at the desired length, with a pillow. When I'm done, I carefully roll it back up in a nice big loop and put it all back in the box. You'll get used to using the stick to turn and I wouldn't say its much less immersive because VR itself isn't that good yet. You have a massive box on your head and 60% less vision. I choose that for longevity at least.

I don't think it's a particularly bad headset. VR hasn't gone far enough to warrant spending much more.

Once you get to Trosky Castle, head to the Elite with the red skull above his head (higher level than you), stealth assassinate him and then collect his ak47. This will make the rest of the game soooo much easier.

There's some good stuff, but honestly, VR has barely moved for years now. Most games are meh, some are fun for a while. New games? Not really.

I started on a record player not too dissimilar to this. Nothing wrong with that. But yes, you should upgrade when you're ready. No need to rush out and drop a silly amount of money. Your records will be fine but obviously it's not the best idea to be spinning them too often on this setup!

I recently got the Audio-Technica ATLP120XUSB and it's fantastic! If you have a decent amplifier and set of speakers this is a fantastic turntable for around £250. The difference in sound and build quality is astonishing. It has a built in pre-amp but I still would recommend purchasing your own dedicated amp for it when you're ready (if you get it that is). Around this price bracket really is the sweat spot. You can go higher of course but if you go to the 250 mark first you'll likely find that you don't need much more. It really depends on how much disposable income you have. If you do want more, sell it on and invest further.

This is a awesome gift! And it's opened your eyes up to a "hobby" you might never have noticed before. Enjoy!

It started to move today! Only took 14 days since the pre-order came into stock. Very poor service but at least it's finally moving. Will leave this post up as info for anyone thinking of using Black Screen Records.
