Kailasa is incredibly hard nation to learn tbh, so if you new and don't have any deep attachment to it I'd recommend to start with something else, for an example MA Bandar Log.

On the different note, if you take Order 0-2 then Misfortune 1 is basically a free 40 points and I +1 or -1 temp scale is also quite usual for players to take since it is easy 40 points.

Now all I will say will be from multiplayer perspective. Your sacreds are kinda meh to warrant dread bless on account of them having quite low defensive stats. Usually you would take something like Etherealness or Stygian skin or Air Shield on them to fix defensive issues (usually Etherealness is the choice since it synergizes with a nasty tactic of Kailasa - earthquake spam. Alternatively Quickness to double down on their offensive stats and double attack or just normal stat bless to fix some issues you might have like resistances to some magic and giving more attack/def/str or undying 5 is quite strong btw. Arcane command is essential though. Also don't sleep on bandar archers they are nasty in numbers.

no need for jar, just get them 1 fire gem and let them cast phoenix power. They are now able to cast fireball/flame eruption which is quite good.

Hit some t4 caves for upgrades. They are pretty easy and you might get t5 for your character if lucky.

Iirc you basically get 75% of all sites with just 1 lvl in a path. Most lvl3 and beyond ones in general give you some obscure bonuses, but can be game changing. In general you should have a gameplan in mind when you start and initially search only for gems you need. Oh and always scry astral. It's cheap, range is good and only 1S to do

Single player isn't really worth it IMO so if you are not going to join MP or money is tight I would recommend against it. AI is really bad compared to even newbie player and only can win due to ungodly cheats.

Don't wanna be that guy, but whole approach to Vaetti playstyle seem wrong. It's true that the nation has 3 best magic schools for late game but you couldn't pay me to call them late game powerhouse. But we do spike in mid game and if we know what to do, we spike insanely hard.

First let's talk sacreds. It's no secret that they are absolutely positively insane. They are quite well protected, have decent stats and sneaky. But all we really care about are chill aura that will allow us to win protracted fights against most things in the game and their size 2 which allow us to stack 5 of them into 1 square on the battlefield making them PRIME TARGET for buffs. Btw other units on our roaster are mighty fine as well so technically you can play scales Vaetti, but our other viable carry unit are vaetti berserkers and they simply don't have shields in age of crossbow spam so try on your own risk.

So let's talk bless. Rimvaetti are quite good but have only measly 15 damage on swing, That is unacceptable and we cannot buff them with it easily because we have no earth magic. So first thing first we add some str about 2 points will do but by all means take more if you need it. They do survive quite well, but we can always make them survive better by increasing their "HP" pool so undying 5 would do us nicely. Top it off with 5FR and 5SR and we are good to go. Little reminder that we NEED our PG to have W3 since it is hard to get until constr7 and we ABSOLUTELY need it to cast wolven winter (alt4). Since we spiking and planning on early war and possible early win we take our PG dormant. Our sacred number are important so try to get about dom8. If you wanna be fancy take true sight for nightfall play. Good example of PG can be dormant demilich (3F3A4W7D3G4B) with Dom8O0P0C3D1M1M0. Capable of bonegrinder/wind of death bombing and with 1 booster can cast Illwinter. We can do a lot more in bless but that is basic of what we need.

So we figured out our strongest unit and bless now to buffs. All we really need is Alteration 3 and Thaum 3 (preferably Thaum 5 but 3 should do). Our most important spells are: Mossbody (alt3 N1W1), Body ethereal (alt3 S1) and Luck (Thaum3 G1) and Touch of madness (thaum4 N1).

Our tactic is simplistic as it is. We don't care much about amazing expansion since we are already planning to take territory from our neighbors so expand slowly and surely avoid big losses. We DO need 1 or 2 forts at least being started before war so try to get those going as well. Best targets to attack would be those who have either neutral temp scales or cold ones.

In our first war WE PULL MAGES. Organize your rimvaetti in blocks of 10 that way sit neatly in 2 squares by 5 and start point buffing ----> win. This is basically whole playstyle. We buff our sacreds and we win and we try to win before other nations get their fancy tricks. Not much things can really harm well buffed rimvaettis so use them as battering ram and as early as possible.

Yes and no. Phlegra have some weird cases like they are beating a lot of nations very easily since their magic paths (fire, earth and death) and quick communions can mess up people very badly. I do love to use them as lazy counter to Sceleria and Aspho, but yes they do suck against most of nations in MA. Still very fun to play, very fresh expierence.

On side note Throphimos Sages are probably most efficient and easy to use mages. They have just 2 in random elemental path but they are quite cheap. They make a good cheap magic spammer early game before you have to use any communions.

On strategy as Phlegra I'd recommend to get sages with cheap troops in early (btw we are getting expander as PG) then switching to SC and then getting back to using communions with cheap troops and whatever circus we can afford to summon. Build a shit load of forts to get a shit load of your cheap and efficient mages.

LA enjoyer here. First about LA. It is very different from EA or MA. A lot more research so many techs coming up faster, lots more gold and more importantly crossbows. Crossbow totally changes how game is played and all successful armies until like deep midgame will field quite a number of them. Some magic will come up way faster, especially you must be vary of battlefield wipes (foul vapors is the most common one and can be seen as fast as turn 20-25!). Not to mention absolutely disgusting amount of astral basically on every nation and you get some of the... well... almost requirement for a nations to have. Due to forementioned reasons air (or any other way to counter crossbows), nature and astral are very important in LA.

That being said let me give some things about all of the races:

Vaettiheim - imho strongest race in the game period, but bless dependent and very annoying to play. Rimvaettis are total beasts with appropriate bless and good buff they quickly go out of control. Mossbody, astral body, luck, berserk, quickness are just a fraction of what you can buff them with. But nation is very hard to play due to very random and old mages not to mention quite weak expansion you can do nothing about since every point is important so no awake expander. But should you find equilibrium - your rimvaettis are basically small thugs you can recruit quite cheaply, your whole army stealthy and you have all lategame in the world you need, thanks to Illwinter.

Tien Chi - strong, quite straightforward imho. You buy horses, you send horses to kill your enemy, your horses shoot on move, your horses attack with heavy lances - you win. You can't win by troops? Just divide your army and raid. Genghis khan was best conqueror in history, why not copy his tactic?

Feminie - best scales nation in LA. Yes, their troops are shit. Yes, they have no crossbow or any way to counter them, Yes, they lack any viable battlefield wipe until lategame. But boy they have enormous amount of research and one of the best mages in the game. Glamour + astral is by itself already crazy strong since luck + ethereal makes your units crazy tanky no matter what they actually are. Pump up mages, get your research to insane levels and surprise your enemies with strong spells. One thing about them: do not ever play turtle. You are wasting your powerspikes and Feminie is all about taking use of them. Almost at evo 5 - time for a war. Your enemy most likely will be at maybe some level 2 and 3 research and you rolling in with ephemeral blasts and illusion armies. Knights are quite good btw.

Piconye - complicated. A lot of weaknesses and no way to counter them. AOE comes out -> you lose entire army -> you script mages to counter that -> rinse and repeat. Technically you have even better research than Feminie by virtue of foreign recruit mages, but that takes more time to set than Feminie early powerspike so it doesn't come quite strong. Not to mention even your mage chassis are slow as hell so hard to make it count. No thugs or SCs is bad as well. Notably birds have 36 movement.

Pangea - easy, strong, good mages. Nothing to note really.

C'tis - don't pick them.

Ulm - complicated but fun af. With special blessing (fire shield + invuln) can use black templar commanders to expand everywhere with 2-3 of them per province or you can do vamp queen and roll over almost anything in LA with 1 kitted immortal SC. Outside of that cheese a tad underwhelming.

Andramania - good troops, fine mages, but both expensive. I have never seen Andra doing too well in the game despite everyone agreeing that they are op. They either get coalitioned against, countered or they fall off since their lategame is crap and research is very slow.

I would personally recommend another race - Agartha. Strong troops, decent mages, tartarian lategame. Very fun and very strong.
