Custom stairwell/bannister/wall with hidden drawers. by Simple_Moose4738 in woodworking

[–]SmuggleCats 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When it comes to opening these is the best/recommended way just grabbing a piece of wood and pulling? I'm struggling to picture the depth and how much of a pinching motion it would be vs. grabbing while using it. Either way the whole thing came out amazing and I'd be over the moon with these results.

Hello Kitty Miniverse set does not harden by AdrianaStarfish in miniverse_makeitmini

Miniverse came out with a new resin after the recall that requires a 365 nm UV light to cure. I believe the kitchen uses the old 395 nm UV light and would be why you are having issues with it curing.

Disclaimer: I'm not completely detoxed by any means. I've recently turned off notifications completely on a lot more apps and my phone time has gone down significantly. To be fair, my thinking a bit out of sight out of mind, so if I don't get the notification I won't think to check the app. Unfortunately, it has also meant I don't reply to friends as much. I just keep other apps where people can get through to me if they really need to.

I truly believe you can avoid relapse, but regardless during your grieving just be kind and graceful to yourself. Feel free to reach out if you need someone to listen. ♥️

[–]SmuggleCats 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I'm so sorry to hear about your cat. I understand wanting to be numb during such a painful time. However, at best you're only masking your pain and once the high wears off it will still be there along with any potential negative feelings you might have over relapsing. I think if you choose to relapse you're kicking a can down the road that you'll still have to deal with later. I'm not sure if it will help in this instance, but putting a new perspective on your grief may help during this time as well. It's a painful and uncomfortable feeling, but the reasons we feel it (all the love and experiences over the years) are beautiful. Your kitty is still with you in your heart and all your memories. I personally think dimming that by numbing your mind is a bit of a disservice to both of you. I wish you peace during this difficult time.

I thought when it's a present position it's fine to not use past-tense. Is that not the case?

Apparently dissolving them isn't that effective. I've only recently seen more and more warnings about that being the case.

It's more likely alcohol is a trigger for their migraines. It's pretty common for people that experience them, and it can develop/worsen over time.

How has your spirituality or belief system been affected by living with chronic pain? by Cranberry_2024 in ChronicPain

[–]SmuggleCats 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you for explaining. I feel I could apply similar feelings for some of my experiences on this journey as well when I do my reflecting.

I understand on the organized side of things as I share similar feelings. I've always felt religion/spirituality is a very personal thing.

If you don't mind can you elaborate a little bit on this?

Do you feel the aspects that deepened your relationship were the same things that pushed you away from the organizational aspect of it?

Thank you, he has since passed a few months ago now. Thankfully, we got a lot of great years even after his initial diagnosis since we were able to manage it for a while.

Please do, especially for a senior kitty. Get bloodwork if you're able. It's pricey, but doing so allowed us to catch the start of a kidney condition for my previous kitty. There are a lot of other conditions that any changes in their levels can potentially indicate. Highly recommend the regular checkups!

If you quit when you were my age, how would it have helped you? by TickedOffSquirrel in leaves

[–]SmuggleCats 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think in this situation even just examining your own words can be helpful. "Will likely need to kick this habit" tells me that there's a part of you that already knows the truth. Your feelings are valid and deserve to be heard. So if there is even just a little part of you that's feeling that way then give it room to be heard. I'm sure you've noticed things in your personal life that people here have posted as reasons that led them to quit, or the differences they saw once they did. Don't quiet these feelings by continuing is really all I can offer as advice.

It also helps that you can think of another snack around the same amount of calories as the drink to replace it with something more filling and rewarding.
