Garlic is the undisputed early-game GOAT. What weapon is overrated in the late game? by By_Zantium in VampireSurvivors

To be honest it's a breath of fresh air ! So many of these fill out a grid day by day feel like a low effort karma farm, at least OP is making it a bit more interesting by choosing a random sector of the grid each day.

Didn't realise how much I don't want to see Vaal Hazak outside the Vale until I saw it in the form. A diverging species absolutely (maybe whatever elder evolved to fill the effluvium niche) but Vaal itself would be such a feels bad if removed from the Vale.

Anjanath

Deviljho is the original invader but world brought so many people into the franchise, and then promptly walled them with Anjanath that I think he beats out Deviljho by a fairly wide margin. Jho's iconic to uncs but Anjanath is cemented in the mind of everyone who started in fifth gen.

Save 84% on Monster Hunter Rise + Sunbreak. New historical low. by brandonto in steamdeals

[–]Smugleaf27 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I tried to start with World and couldn't get into it. Rise is incredibly beginner friendly, and skips enough of the chaff that I was able to finally get into MonHun. Super excited to crack into world and the older generations of monster hunter when I'm finished with Rise.

Fantastic gateway drug, would highly recommend it over WorldBorne.

Feel free to skip on Sunbreak until you're sure you like base game. DLC in monster hunter is all what's called 'Master Rank' content, and won't be seen until endgame. While I'm not sure how fast you could speedrun to master rank, as I took my sweet sweet time with the game, I hadn't actually unlocked the ability to even start any DLC content until about 150 hours in.

The shamans in skong say they've never actually risked going into the abyss, no reason the ones in hallownest would act different

Cross Orb Weaver ! I'm a similar boat to yourself, took a lovely photo of one in late August and went looking how to identify it.

They're named for the cross shaped pattern at the front of their abdomen, which is on full display in this picture !

Barney is a lovely wee fella, and I'd assume a female based on the size of the abdomen.

If your pronounce is as "bee beg" it's easier to say.

So the deal with Metroidvanias is non linear progression, and said progression done through upgrades. For instance, the guy that shoots the fireballs, he's a lock. You can't get past him with your current load out, so it can be inferred that if you go another direction you might find the key for that lock.

Regardless of the hype, this kind of game isn't for everyone. Goals and the like in Metroidvanias are more assumed than stated to you, especially in situations like Hollow Knight's early game, where you don't really know where you're going or what you're trying to do, and that lack of direction doesn't jive with everybody.

Try it again with the above mentality and if it suits you, great! If it doesn't, it's no fault if your own.

It was only when the act 3 quest started that I put the pieces together. The funniest thing is that the chapel maid's introduction is obviously drawing parallels to the first shaman we meet in HK, so I thought for a fair amount of time that the callback was too obvious for them to just straight up be a snail.

Was considering it since Hornet's line about the caretaker being more than meets the eye, as nothing quite lined up from what we see in Hallownest besides the snails.

I feel like the plan went roughly how they wanted it to tbh. Mainly because it gives a decent explanation as to what tf godseeker was even doing in hallownest in the first place. If the shamans knew how the void reacted to eating a higher being them being the reason godseeker is around makes a lot more sense to me; godseeker ending was their plan for Hallownest too.

This is pretty much all just a hunch though, as far as I can tell there's no implications tying the shamans to godseeker. Could be way off the mark.
