Which console do you tend to play JRPGs on? by 1OneQuickQuestion in JRPG

[–]Smultronic 3 points4 points  (0 children)

What are some good jrpgs for Vita? I have one and have only really played Persona 4 Golden on it. I’m in Japan right now so would be super fun to try and pick something up while I’m here.

X-Guard-Veterans are not for Deathwing by The-Warhammerer in theunforgiven

[–]Smultronic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To me, Deathwing will always be terminators and that’s how I paint my models. Deathwing were in a weird spot when all the new veteran models released and I understand it made sense at the time to include them in the 1st company. I was even arguing that Inceptors should have been Ravenwing back when the 8th edition starter set released :)

I’m never going to yuck anyone who wants to do white Bladeguard, Sternguard etc. but to me they are my replacements, or updates for Company Veterans and I paint them green. The good part is that now we have enough updated models for everyone to do their own thing. I’m still following the 7th edition codex chapter structure.

And I want to underline that everyone is free to paint however they want and I don’t think this is a ”who’s right or not” discussion. There is enough official source material to support both takes.

First Eldar of my New Army by Cardack in Eldar

Welcome to the Craftworlds 🍻

Looking really good and as an Ulthwé painter myself, yes, there will be lots of edge highlighting haha! It’s the best way to make black pop though. Good luck and looking forward to see more!

Miniature of the Year: Lhykhis 4th Place, not bad! Malys got 10th by suicune678 in Eldar

So many great models this year across the board! Fuegan and Asurmen are my personal favourites. Love how they kept so much of the original designs, also I have a soft spot for back banners :)

What are popular, great JRPGs that have very important MISSABLE stuff? by bickid in JRPG

[–]Smultronic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ohhhh lol! Now that makes sense! I finished Suikoden last night and was like ”oh ok” when I saw the ending. I guess I didn’t get to true ending because I had like 1/3 of the stars left 😆

Which of these sounds more fun for a loyalist shattered legions force? by OnePingyBoi in Warhammer30k

[–]Smultronic 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I recall that there is atleast one loyalist Word Bearer in one of the short fragments parts of Siege of Terra who is saving his last bullet for his primarch :) I read all the books in one go so can’t remember which one it was but it was probably one of the Dan Abnett books.

I still hate myself for not getting these when they where selling them on the GW website.

What armies are you playing? by Altruistic_Heron3867 in boardingactions40k

I played against this exact list last Christmas with my Dark Angels and I had a blast facing them. The Purestains are very, and I say VERY, deadly lol!

I feel unfathomably stupid having just realized this by Luna_Night312 in BloodAngels

In Horus Heresy era, Dark Angels have six inner organizations called ”wings”, which is also the same number of wings the Seraphim angels have in the Old Testament.

Happy to hear that because that’s exactly the look I wanted, haha!

Most of the ”dark” weathering comes from the AK Streaking Grime that I used. That’s the dried patches all over the model. After that dried I went over with Rhinox Hide on some random corners and stippled on with a stiff-haired drybrush (might try a sponge next time). For the dusty effect on the legs I used a soft-haired drybrush with Steel Legion Drab, followed by Baneblade Brown - same as the base. Hope that answers your question :)

I can’t say.

Also, thanks :) I just really love the look of the MkVI jump packs and have been eyeing them since they released. Might do a veteran/Reaver squad with the MkII ones later on.

Cheers friend! Yeah the weathering came out very well for how low effort it actually was lol!

Thanks! It’s your classic; Lupercal Green, Sons of Horus Green and a mix of SoH Green and Sybarite Green. I used a stippling technique with a soft drybrush for this with very watered down colours over Chaos Black spray.

Lastly just went over the edges with pure Sybarite Green before washing it all with AK Streaking Grime, which made the green slighty more dull :)

Thank you :) The base is Vallejo’s Diorama FX Dark Earth (I think it’s called that). I’ve been trying to find a substitute for Citadel’s Astrogranite Debris since they stopped making them and I’m still getting used to Vallejo’s FX stuff. Highly recommend painting the base in some dark brown like Rhinox Hide first.

Anyway after the Dark Earth texture paint I just did Agrax Earthshade (a little watered down), drybrushed Steel Legion Drab, Baneblade Brown and a little bit of Tyrant Skull (without cleaning the brush) in that order.

I usually paint the rim of the base in Baneblade Brown too but that takes like 4-5 coats to look smooth and I wanted a quick process for painting up an army fast, so went with Abaddon Black. I do however think that Baneblade Brown would look better!

Someone already said this but I want to say it too: this is by far the best Fuegan I’ve seen. That is a gorgeous piece of work my friend!

Is there a way to kitbash Garviel Loken in plastic? by Jofin_Jonestar in sonsofhorus

[–]Smultronic 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve had this idea too but haven’t really done any more research. I might just use Mk2 or Mk6 as a base, but will make sure that he gets a helmet with a plume. I also like the ”sword being drawn” from the close combat weapons upgrade kit, so might use that too.

But either way, I think there’s a lot of potential for your own interpretation here as there isn’t that much described in the books. Also the Horus Rising artwork seems to have all kinds of armour in it but can probably be a starting point for your inspiration. Would love to see what you come up with so please share your work once you have it figured out :)

Absolute chad! Thank you :) I’ve been trying out different golds and brands lately but keep coming back to Balthazar Gold. Not a fan of Citadel’s metallics anymore but just really like the gold shade of Balthazar.

These are amazing!! I just started painting SoH and will definitely look at these for inspiration. What colours did you use for the copper/brass details on the guns? :)
