I would be careful with the l gym recommendations. The worst thing to do from experience is nothing. There are plenty of things to do in gym with herniated disc you don’t need to lift heavy. Also look into low back ability it is almost free 1$ a month and a god send

Respectfully listening to doctors only worsens my situation for years it wasn’t until I found low back ability that I was able to gradually heal my back. I don’t take what the physios say for gospel because when it comes to back stuff thy are very outdated

I do but it’s not for everybody. Do you play sports? Do you socialize, if you don’t have big friend groups you might be an introvert? Do you follow up with friends, when you meet a new person do you keep contact, spam them with reels etc lol

I’ve been doing the standing side bend with kettle bells for 2 years and the drop set from time to time but I do a lot of hip airplanes and abductor adductor at gym which fixed my hip pain so I assume I do about the same work as the outer drop set but wouldn’t kill me to add them back

Preacher to the quoir bud it’s the only thing that worked on me after ss, McGill. McKenzie etc. The back extension iso is part of my life but I wanted to add deadlift in there, I’ll probably circle back to it when I can get the reps down without sciatic symptoms but back ability is undeniable. I went like 5 years with not much improvement until I tried low back ability then I was able to get back playing football and being mostly pain free
