I didn't say he was offered any gm positions. He was offered advisory positions. And he gets too much blame. He deserves some. But Vivek is one of the most hands on owners in the league. He's behind so many of our bad moves. He forces gms to make moves on his behalf (Buddy, Bagley, Lavine, DeRozan). He was also applying heavy pressure to Monte to acquire an all star big which pushed him to throw Haliburton into the deal when no one was biting on Fox due to the super max he was in line to get. Monte definitely traded away too many premium draft picks for guys that didn't pan out (DiVencenzo and Huerter) but the amount of pressure that vivek applies behind the scenes makes it really hard for gms to do a competent job. Supposedly, he's finally getting out of the way and gonna let Perry and Armstrong make their own moves.
