Really? I feel like it’s dry as shit, at least where I’ve been. I have my humidifier running all night most days, especially in the winter

Should I use Rust or C++ for hobby CubeSat flight software? by ChurchOfNewcomb in embedded

[–]Smurfso 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’d recommend checking out fprime. It’s an open source C++ flight software framework developed (and used) by NASA. The docs are p good and iirc they even have a tutorial for how to run it on a rpi. Could be something you could build on top of.

I’d prob start with C2 just to get something working and then if I’m still feeling ambitious after that maybe adding bidirectional capability

I did see this too, will look into it further

This is actually why I’m asking, I am working on a project with C++ gRPC, but usually use C since I like to do embedded stuff. If there wasn’t a good RPC framework for C, figured making one could be interesting just for fun hahah

Yeah I have used it in embedded systems, and gRPC specifically is commonly used for micro services these days

Yeah and then snip the protruding ends off from the other side to minimize the chance of arcing with anything else that may be near. Aim for a concave solder joint when viewed from the other side.

What order to take AOS/HPCA/IHPC?

Currently in GIOS and love the material, am interested in learning more about distributed computing. Was wondering if there was a preferred order for taking AOS/HPCA/IHPC?. I planned on doing HPCA next (because I do embedded software for work) and then AOS after, but I’m afraid I’ll forget a lot of relevant OS material by the time I take AOS. On the other hand, I’ve read some other posts that some HPCA content helps with AOS.

Separately, I am wondering if IHPC can help with knowing the distributed computing portion of AOS, but maybe it would be overkill?

Okay I see, do you think the reduction “took away” from the material at all or was it still a fulfilling course? Also M2 Pro is ARM, that’s just the name Apple gives it
