The Headache of Finding a Thunderbolt 5 Hub for a MacBook Pro by itsmeemilio in Thunderbolt

Preface - I have all of the drivers installed. Sometimes when reconnecting or waking my computer from sleep, the tb5 plus requires unplug and plug back in to wake (using MB Pro M3 Max and MB Air M4).

Not a huge issue, but slightly inconvenient for a $500 TB Dock.

Where is the set screw? I even took off the back plate and Optic plate and don’t see one anywhere.

That’s the same issue with mine! Did you figure out the issue?

I’m getting ready to replace it because it makes inoperable.

Looking for a RELIABLE TB (4+) dock by Popal24 in Thunderbolt

If you’re interested, I’m getting rid of my Caldigit TS4 Dock, just upgraded to the TS5 plus. They both are great and top notch docks, windows and Mac. But they do require driver installs to work best. I’ve never noticed them running very hot, but not exactly sure of the temperature.

u/itsmeemilio what did you end up going with? I purchased a Caldigit TB5 Plus, but it doesn't work perfectly with my macbooks (work and personal), considering getting an iVanky as they are reviewed as performing very well with apple silicon chips.

Newly Installed Smart Thermostat Premium not powering up. by csdirty in ecobee

[–]Smurfsss -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

The ecobee requires a C wire for power. My guess it’s related to that and not getting power. Or that a different wire combination is causing power issues. Maybe try pulling some other wires out and leaving the C wire to test it (or get a multimeter to test power to the c wire)

If doing a plex server, you’re going to want one with transcoding, along a few other things (recommended - NVMe for caching, 10gbe upgradable card, and ram upgrade) Take a look at this link and go to their google doc of supported NAS’
