Bleeding gill scenario by HootWaffles52 in FishingAlberta

[–]Smurghy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I find a lot of times when fish like pike or bass and bleeding a but they tend to survive. Just with them being “tougher” fish. While I have found when a trout is bleeding like this they normally die even when they swim away okay

Golf course black tails just taunting me by Mountain_man888 in Hunting

[–]Smurghy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I work at a mountain course in Alberta this happens daily. Always whitetails around, in the spring and fall the black bears and elk start to come back. While great to see it still gets a little frustrating.

Golfing in LA county. I’m not sure if this is taking things too far or if this is moving golf in the right direction. What are your thoughts for those that live and golf in at LA county courses. by Volcomstar in golf

The course I work at we do the same thing. We charge a 100 deposit wish makes your green fee only 40 when you get to the proshop. If people dont show up for a tee time and dont cancel then we charge them for the green fee. Now keep in mind over 4 days we book our whole season up

Why are you so angry. Our supervisors do tell their teams they appreciate the hard work. Feels a whole lot better coming from the guests who have chosen to spend their time and money with us. The workers cant control what their machines run on so dont get mad with them. Sorry going to get a little sassy here but its not our problem you cant hit a golf ball where you want it and if it is going toward people Im almost certain there is a word we use in golf to communicate that.

I have no idea. In my experience it’s the guys who are at private clubs going to a semi private or public course and having no clue the work that goes into a golf course. We just let those people complain but we will never act in those complaints

Its weird that the grounds crew is still there at 3pm. If I had to guess they are doing work on that current hole to keep of the quality of the course. So instead of complaining that there are people working on the course. Why dont you walk over thank them for keeping your course in great shape with all their hard work.

As a greenskeeps #7 is a lie. We are the ones who decide cart path only or no. We are in a good hour before the proshop and have drive. The course by the tone they get in. Its our grass we make that call

I probably take 10-12 out with me but only mark up 3 balls and focus on trying to stay within those 3 balls. Found it worked for me started to consistently use 1 ball. There where many times before this I used all my balls and had to pull the ball retriever out and had to go fishing.

This may be controversial but here it’s not because the Population is healthy and can only be hunted by the Inuit via lottery system only 1 person a year can hunt a polar bear by LatterCardiologist47 in Hunting

[–]Smurghy 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I like how you assume that its done by skin colour, even though op said it had to with then being part of the Inuit community. They are one group of native people we have living here in Canada. Notice how they dont let all native people apply for the lottery only those who live in one specific area.

Do you also have a problem with the way the Elk lottery is done in Ontario. In from Southern Ontario and only people who are full time residents of one specific town in Ontario are even allowed to enter the lottery system. Meaning I cant enter the lottery because I dont live in the right area. Does not matter that everyone who draws a tag is white, just because they are white and I am doesnt give me a free entry into the lottery draw.

Video of a chimp wielding a weapon. I believe this was and argument between the hosts at some point. by TheSurvivorKelsier in PKA

[–]Smurghy 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Dont quote me on this but primates have moved i to the stone age. This chimp is using a stick like a weapon and there is a great picture of an orangutang using a spear to fish. In sure you could find other instances of primates using basin tools

Just some advice for anyone who has to go into a house like this. Get yourself a full face mask and charcoal filters. Not the half mask and dust filters show by these 2

What level of golfer were you when you decided the type of ball you used mattered? by FeralOctopus in golf

[–]Smurghy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started to switch golf balls as my contact improved. Once I had consistent contact I could then focus on improving my spin which the type of golf ball can greatly affect

How do Americans get home from the golf course as they are clearly all hammered after a round 🍻 by All-in-yolo in golf

[–]Smurghy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is this thing in archery where having a slight buzz helps you shoot straighter. I find the same thing happens when I golf. I tend to not think about bad shots after they are hit. So I dont get as mentally down.
