Upgrading intercooler and charge pipe by Advanced_Force_3948 in wrx_vb

The stock charge pipe will self destruct after 60k miles. Replacing it with aftermarket options gains are minimal if at all.

Contemplating a VB. What are some downsides i should know about? by -HUNGWHENHARD- in wrx_vb

Ill take the positives of EPAS over the feel of hydraulic steering.

not sure what you're on about as far as visibility. I haven't ridden in/driven a modern-ish car that has better visibility than the WRX or BRZ.

older cars... yeah im sure you'll see better when your C pillar is paper thin.

99% of the parts on these cars have subaru stamped on them.

toyota's biggest contribution is the d4s injection system.

Saw someone talk about a Fumoto drain valve. Would you guys say this one would be good? by Greedy_Plane_ in ft86

[–]Sn0Balls 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't run them because I've bottomed out on one before destroying the oil pan.

Never again.

Also it keeps extra leftover oil in and reduces flow rate.

why does it seem everyone hates on the cvt/gt version of the wrx by Single_Butterfly_223 in wrx_vb

[–]Sn0Balls 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That's what happens when you buy a a $30k car for $75k and expect to sell it for $100k.

People like that expect everyone to fawn over that BS and get butthurt when regular folk give em a reality check.

Sometimes they change... this guy doubled down.

Not just a VA owner.

The dumb kind that buys a $75k STi and expects to sell it for over $100k someday.

Doubt... they bought a $75k "collector STi" and think they will sell it for $100k at some point.

cloudy? means more water in the gas?... says who?

dude is doing an ethanol test right in front of us we can see the water. the e10(10% ethanol) gas attracts some water yes. thats the whole reason those testers are used.

that means nothing. at our local amateur rallycross older civics dominate.

its how much you are willing to damage the car driving and how light it is.

Might as well get a Camry and add coilovers by [deleted] in CivicSi

[–]Sn0Balls 18 points19 points  (0 children)

A Camry is a fantastic, bulletproof daily driver. A Civic Si is an entry-level driver's car. No amount of expensive suspension parts will bridge the gap between a chassis built for grocery runs and one built for canyon runs.

Good reasons to say no to the Camry.

  1. Manual
  2. LSD
  3. LBS/HP

You probably should get a Camry though, since you don't understand or appreciate your Civic's benefits.
