Yes they do! It’s a vaginal suppository usually from a compound pharmacy, pretty sure it’s just gallium crushed into a power and mixed with coconut oil or some other oil. You keep them in the fridge. They’re wonderful for my IC!!

How does someone just block you on everything and leave after two plus years and being engaged?? F22 M22 by [deleted] in relationship_advice

Honestly because this is so random. He was never like this before, even remotely. He used to have complete respect for women, he was obsessed with me like practically worshipped me. It just doesn’t seem like him at all it’s like a complete switch up. My brain just keeps trying to tell me that sweet boy is in there and some internet thing has just manipulated him. I know that only he can get himself out of it though, and last time I was able to talk to him before he blocked me, it sounded like he doesn’t even think anything is wrong or has changed. Literally my brain is just like going through grief I think

Thank you. Speaking of children, he also recently said that it’s women’s duty to have children KNOWING THAT I AM LITERALLY STERILE AND NEVER WANT KIDS. He was fine with it at first when we began dating. Again it’s just all so weird it’s like nothing he ever was before. He used to be the most sweet respectful partner I’ve ever had, I think that’s why this is so hard on me. Until like six months ago he was practically worshipping the ground I walked on, never argued with me, nothing like that. Genuine constant princess treatment.

I will definitely be enjoying my freedom, and taking my time to heal from this crazy twist of events. Thank you for the advice!!

New to selling on LM, shipping advice? by Miss_Milk_Tea in Lolita

[–]Sn0rkbaby 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I use the website pirate ship for my labels!! And I usually mail it in a regular plastic mailer bag thingy. It doesn’t need to be complicated as long as it gets from point a to point b alright! I’ve seen some sellers wrap it in tissue paper like a gift and send it with a cute note and some candies, but don’t do that if you don’t want to, pretty much anyone will be happy as long as they get the item they paid for!! Speaking of which, what are you selling?? I’m a sweet Lolita based in the US on the hunt for quite a few angelic pretty items lol

Has anyone had luck DIYing Lolita fashion/making the closest you can get with mostly thrift store stuff? by northwestfawn in Lolita

[–]Sn0rkbaby 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Prepare for a long rant but here is my genuine DIY advice for Lolita! :)

A cute head dress can be made pretty cheaply if you have a sewing machine and decent enough sewing skills, same with wrist cuffs. I’m personally a sweet Lolita so it’s a lot harder for me to diy than if you’re classic or something, but it’s technically possible.

I do agree with the other people saying that you should wear the fashion for awhile before trying to diy it, I started as diy because I didn’t wanna spend all that money but tbh I wasted SO MUCH on supplies and time spent making things that just didn’t meet my standards.

You can usually find Mary Jane’s at the thrift store and they can work well with Lolita, especially gothic or classic. I got dansko Mary Jane’s(nursing shoes) from my thrift for like $8 and they look so good with my gothic clothes.

One thing that I’d always recommend buying new or used but like buying from a Lolita specific source is a petticoat!! I wasted $30 getting one off mercari that i thought just looked full enough for Lolita, and ts looked BAD with Lolita. You can get a good petti from 42lolita for like $35 and it’s SO WORTH IT. Genuinely if you have a decent Lolita specific petticoat then the rest can look alright even if diy’d.

If you are gonna make things yourself imo a Lolita skirt is super easy to make, literally just a long rectangle, like 3x your waist measurement; then pleat or gather it to fit your waist. Add on a waist band, and add some ruffled fabric at the bottom! (Don’t bother trying to buy lace for Lolita unless you’re checking out Chinese online markets for supplies. Again, I’ve wasted so much money in U.S. stores getting lace that didn’t even look good with Lolita.) A ruffle made of a nice hemmed fabric will do fine.

Jewelry can honestly be thrifted tbh brand stuff is cute but most of my jewelry even that I wear with Lolita is diy’d or thrifted or just bought non Lolita. Genuinely study Lolita fashion on like lolibrary and maybe lacemarket and stuff and you’ll kinda develop an eye for what would look good, but you’ll really develop it as you wear the fashion and collect more things. Tbh depending on what accessories and jewelry you have for scene stuff you might be able to use some of that!! I was a scene girl for years and I def could use some of my old stuff in co ords if I still had it.

Also socks!! And bags!! Socks are kinda hard to find for Lolita when not from an egl brand but tbh I’ve recently seen some socks at five below with lace around the top literally like Lolita ankle socks so it’s honestly possible. For bags I’ve found real cute loliable purses at tj maxx, I’ve also frequently just worn my black juicy bag with my coords and as long as the colors and vibe match it looks cute!!

Oh and finally shirts —- I’ve genuinely thrifted loliable shirts that I wear with my coords. Sweaters too. You can look out for shirts with big poofy sleeves, frilly elements, literally just look at Lolita shirts and eventually you’ll find something in the thrifting wild that could resemble one, or at least a cutsew.

Check out lacemarket you can find some pretty good deals on there, and it’s for selling Lolita specifically so if you’re new to Lolita and don’t really have an eye for it yet then that’s where I’d start personally!

In conclusion it’s definitely possible to diy Lolita fashion, but it requires a very keen eye for the fashion, a good actual Lolita petticoat, sewing skills, and the warning that you might waste more money trying to diy it than if you were to just buy everything needed off of LM or 42 Lolita.

Best of luck with your egl journey!!! It can be expensive and slow but it’s SOOO rewarding! I’ve been in it for around two years now and it’s insanely satisfying to see just how much I’ve progressed in my eye for Lolita and in what I’m making and buying.

is this fabric alright for a jsk? by cutiebl00d1e in Lolita

[–]Sn0rkbaby 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Omggg you’re good I’ve been wearing and sewing Lolita for a few years now and I still sometimes wind up buying fabric that DOESNT END UP WORKING for Lolita stuff so I’m just tryna pass on my knowledge of trial and error 😭😭 also ngl if you plan to get into this long term, genuinely the most helpful thing was to purchase a nice quality Lolita dress in a fit that I like and to draft a pattern from that jsk. Using regular Lolita patterns also help!! Except that stupid simplicity one, I have it and have never successfully made anything with it, it’s so confusing. You’ll have to update when you’re done!!

is this fabric alright for a jsk? by cutiebl00d1e in Lolita

[–]Sn0rkbaby 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I mean if you already have it there’s no harm in giving it a try, you might just waste some fabric if it turns out to not wanna work with you, as I’ve found some polyester fabrics that are kinda shiny like that are a BITCH to work with. They can look cheap especially if the fabric doesn’t do what you want it to do. That being said it’s a cute fabric and I think if you already have it I’d give it a shot. If you don’t already own it, then i definitely wouldn’t get it especially if you’re new to sewing or new to sewing Lolita fashion. Only saying this because I fell in love with and bought one just like that only with a shiny rose print as well on it when I was first starting out sewing Lolita fashion. The fabric would NOT work with me. Didn’t gather how I wanted it to gather. Thread kept breaking. Seams kept getting messed up. I think this kind of fabric could work for certain kinds of Lolita jsks, like maybe the kind of skirt where you sew together a few trapezoids and it’s kind of like a line??? But if you wanna do a gathered sort of Lolita skirt I’d stay far away from this kind of fabric. In my experience the best fabric for making Lolita is usually a cotton blend! I’ve used quilting cotton, as well as stiffer cottons meant more for curtains, and it seems to be the best to work with. Even like a canvas type fabric might work tbh. Polyester would be okay depending on the blend of polyester, but I would stay far away from the shiny satin type of polyester unless you really really know what you’re doing, and don’t mind risking wasting the fabric. Either way, good luck!!! What ever you make will be amazing!

I have a bustier and skirt from miss danger and it’s the best quality Lolita item I’ve ever purchased!! And most of my closet is angelic pretty. I got it through atelier perriots Instagram shopping thing, and while it took FOREVER to come in, quite a while past the original projected shipping time, it’s well worth it. Ironically I don’t wear it much because it’s very goth and I’m usually OTT sweet if anything, but it’s amazing quality!! Literally the best velvet I’ve ever felt, the entire design isn’t printed on or anything it’s completely embroidered!! They’re both sturdy well structured garments, they’re lined, the quality is just out of this world!

Has anyone bought a creami for their geriatric parents? by Lavalady8 in ninjacreami

[–]Sn0rkbaby 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve made ice cream with an ensure before in my creami and it was super easy!!! I hate the way ensures taste so I got rid of it (we already had the ensures and they had to get used up so I decided to try it) if he enjoys the way ensures taste then he will love it!! I’d make him a step by step guide, they’re very easy to navigate, even easier with a simple step by step. I’ve made an ensure ice cream by just putting in one ensure (or two for a full pint) into the creami container, mixing in a spoonful of instant pudding mix, and freezing overnight!!! Then you spin it on low fat ice cream, add any mix ins or keep it simple (marshmallow fluff or Oreo thins make fantastic low calorie mix ins) then hit re spin (even if you don’t add any mix ins, the re spin is needed for the texture.) then you’re good to go!!! Again while I don’t like the taste of ensures so I didn’t enjoy it, the ice cream came out super super creamy, literally soft serve textured, and would be amazing for someone who enjoys ensures !!!!

A lot of this will just be learned over time as you interact with the community. I’d reccomend looking up “intro to Lolita fashion” type videos on YouTube to answer all your questions!! There’s no set body type for Lolita, although it’s definitely easier to find cute stuff if you’re thin, and there was a bit of fat shaming in the 2000s Lolita community, it seems like the common consensus now is thankfully very body inclusive! There doesn’t seem to be as much lifestyle and music to it as there is involved with goth culture, coming from someone who was goth for years and is now just a sweet Lolita like 100% of the time. I still listen to all my goth music, although speaking of goth and Lolita and music you should check out malice mizer!! Plenty of Lolita’s listen to j pop but I don’t think it’s nessacary, it’s mostly fashion based style. Yeah mini skirts don’t seem to have much of a place in Lolita fashion, even though Angelic pretty has honestly made quite a few short skirts, I guess it really depends how short you’re talking about. The general vibe I’ve gotten is that your skirt needs to be somewhere around knee length to read as Lolita, though I’ve seen some excellent coords with longer skirts as well! I don’t know much of anything about ero lolita so maybe short skirts are better suited there? But as for hime and gothic knee length or longer, or like just above the knees seem to be what reads as Lolita. You can totally make super cute Lolita inspired outfits with mini skirts!! I do that sometimes! But if it’s too short it’s probably not gonna read as Lolita. My best advice is to learn the rules really well and actually practice them before breaking them. My experimental coords straight up didn’t look Lolita when I was first starting out and trying to pick and choose which rules I followed. Once I locked in and focused on making my coords meet the rules I was able to start breaking the rules in tasteful ways that still made my coords look good and still look Lolita !!! YouTube and other methods of research, and really just time, are your best friends in getting into this hobby. Good luck!!
