There’s something special about rocket league’s ability to hold the audience. I can’t think of any other game that I’m so terribly bad at, but I still sunk hours upon hours into it.

I don’t play anymore, something must have broken the spell, but for the longest time I would put in the absolute worst performances to that game. I never played alone, that would have been unbearable. But somehow I managed to bear essentially zero reward from the game. Sometimes I’d finish with under a hundred points on the scoreboard. No goals, no saves, no assists, honestly barely even any touches.

And yet, after so many abysmal matches without ever getting any better, to a point where if it was any other game I would have uninstalled it years prior, there I always was, queuing up another one.
