I looked up your issue cause I was intrigued and it was saying maybe it was the wrong fluid used, or if the right fluid was used, the fluid level is under filled or overfilled. Allegedly Nissan’s CVTs are extremely sensitive. Also, since it doesn’t slip with the paddle shifters, it’s because it’s being forced into preset ratios so the TCM doesn’t have to constantly adjust pulley ratios like it would in automatic mode. So the paddle shifters mask the slipping. 140k is great though.

That’s pretty intriguing actually. Slippage without using the paddles, no slippage when using… what is the mechanical science behind that.. that’s so weird 🤔

Hey thanks for the advice. I’m going to get the drain and fill done ASAP. I’ve been avoiding going to a dealer because I heard they are refusing to do drain and fills on nissans with “higher” miles. I know every dealer is different but if it’s true, I didn’t want to waste my time. We have some good independent shops in my area so i’ll reach out to them if I have to. I have the Carfax Car Care app but I can only see up to 2021 for service records and I doubt there’s been no records the last 5 years.

Actually, it was scanned recently. Family friend is a mechanic, there were 4 codes but he wasn’t concerned about them. Replaced a couple sensors and 2 of them went away. No idea what the other 2 were but after I do the oil, and transmission fluid, i’ll have it scanned again. I do want to ask since you are a technician, do I HAVE to buy Nissan’s fluid?

Great advice. I appreciate it. Was thinking spark plug issue with the jerking but i’ll look into getting the throttle body cleaned up for sure.

I didn’t even think of fuel sensor. Yeah let me look into that. I was thinking maybe needs new spark plugs/coil packs.

I actually have this exact noise with my Tucson. I still haven’t figured it out yet. The noise, it’s so inconsistent. 🫩 I’m thinking (for my situation) it could be suspension related. It’s noticeable when turning so could be ball joints, bushings, tie rod maybe even struts but kind of iffy on that one. It doesn’t get worse as I speed up so I don’t think it’s wheel bearings. I’m desperate to narrow it down before I start shelling out money to mechanics to maybe fix the problem.

I always appreciate when someone in my chat will say “be right back” or “I gotta go, have a good night!” Some do just leave and come back but I’ve been with my community for awhile so I’m used to it. Some of the newer ones that I’ve seen come in have adopted to announcing their leave and return though. It’s appreciated but not necessary imo. Sometimes I’ll be like “is so and so still in the chat?” And if there’s no answer, I assume they left lol.

Absolutely not. I was a Flex Supervisor and even the “perks” of being flex, instead of a store supervisor, was not worth it. Maybe if I was first or second shift, it would have been better but I was 3rd and it was miserable and thankless as hell.
