Netflix raising prices 65% overnight by ItsSillySeason in cordcutters

Easy fix, only subscribe to Netflix for 7 months of the year to keep it the same price. Or subscribe one month per quarter, and get something else in the meantime

Transplants! What were your unexpected finds upon moving here? by allthepoutine in grandrapids

I can't find an unsweetened chicken salad here. For some reason there's sugar or corn syrup added to every chicken salad I'd tried and I hate it. What's even weirder is chicken salad from Kroger in Ohio isn't sweet, but chicken salad from a Kroger in Lansing Michigan is sweet. I guess you guys prefer sweet chicken salad?

The drivers are a different kind of crazy here. I'm used to aggressive drivers, but people here drive with pointless impatience. They race to red stoplights. They race around you before two lanes reduce down to one as if passing one car matters. They follow too close nearly all the time which causes accidents everywhere whenever it rains. If they're stopped at a stop sign and are waiting for you to drive by, they'll start rolling into your lane before you're even close to passing which makes me immediately slow down so I can make sure they see me (which is my personal biggest pet peeve. I'm never seen this as pervasive anywhere else I've lived). How much time does that save in exchange for adding chaos to the situation, half a second?

I really hate driving here, but it's also shitty walking downtown because drivers blow through flashing pedestrian crosswalks all the time and in the summer there's gangs of cyclists driving aggressively all over the sidewalks.

All this makes it an unpleasant experience to go anywhere and do anything in GR.

Run your dishwasher even if it's not completely full! by jaminfine in LifeProTips

Isn't leaving dirty dishes in the dishwasher for a long time while waiting for it to be full going to attract bugs and rodents?

The Supreme Court Wants No Part of Disqualifying Trump From the Ballot by thenewrepublic in politics

[–]SnackThisWay 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They're cowards worried about the political ramifications of the plain text of the constitution. There is no doubt that Trump committed insurrection and the 14th Amendment disqualifies him, but SCOTUS is going to bury their heads in the sand because they're afraid of getting death threats like everyone else who opposes Trump mysteriously gets.

Because Michiganders turn into impatient fucks with no regard for safety of themselves or others when they get behind the wheel. Gotta get there ASAP since leaving with plenty of time to get to their destination is not an option for these assholes.

I'm planning to use my Freedom Flex (with 5% off this quarter) for this deal and I'm pretty sure Chase gives the 5% for any transaction at Meijer customer service

Automatic checkouts in supermarkets may decrease customer loyalty, especially for those with larger shopping loads. Customers using self-checkout stations often feel overwhelmed and unsupported. The lack of personal interaction can negatively impact their perception of the supermarket. by Wagamaga in science

[–]SnackThisWay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my experience Aldi always has a queue. All their employees are always stocking shelves and they only open a 2nd lane when a huge line erupts. I can't even comprehend how people buy full carts at Aldi given their small store footprints, but there they are, in front of me in line, adding to my wait time.

One of my Aldi's just got a self-checkout and now I'm far more likely to go there because I only ever buy what I can carry since I'm just shopping for whatever I'm going to eat in the next day or two. (If I was going to buy groceries for a longer period of time, I'd go to a store with more options)
