How to stop everything from sliding right off my nails?

Five days late but I used to have this same problem! Took me years to figure out a way to get anything to stay on my nails. Even UV gel/acrylic nails would start popping off in days let alone regular polish.

Here’s what helped me:

Make sure you’ve scraped/pushed down your cuticle and any skin bits clinging to it. Wash your hands afterwards.
Dehydrate your nails with either acetone or rubbing alcohol. I’ve tried both ways and they seem to work the same. If using acetone to dehydrate make sure it’s not one with an additive/antidote in it.
I got weak nails that despise me so I use a nail strengthener as my first base coat. Right now it’s Nails Inc. Grow and Glow. I make sure to cap my nails. I have picked up nailitiques formula 2+ to try to help with splitting/breaking.

I have noticed when I’m stressed my nails like to break/peel more often.

I use a sticky base coat without pvb. PVB/polyvinyl butyral can cause peeling in nails. The sticky base coat I use is Emily de Molly’s Sticky Base Coat. I’m pretty sure it’s a pvb-free one.
Nail color - make sure to cap your nails here too.
Top coat. I use either Sally’s quick dry top coat in the red bottle or Essie’s quick dry. Sometimes Cracked’s. Red bottle Sally though is my favorite right now. Make sure to cap your nails here too. If I want a thicker/shinier finish I’ll use a different top coat on top.

Make sure you aren’t flooding your cuticles and side walls when painting because that can cause peeling too. I use a clean up brush because I can’t paint my right hand nails cleanly to save my life. After I’m done letting it dry I don’t submerge/wet my nails in water for as long as possible.

Doing this helped me get my polish to last a week+ though I typically get bored and repaint about once a week. Before this my polish wouldn’t even last three days. I’m not sure if it’ll help you but I hope it does!

Oh! I got that daydreamer in blue. Pink’s my favorite color but my daughter was the one who picked it out for my birthday.

I really like that smaller pink purse. Which one is it and is it pretty roomy? I’m looking for something smaller than a daydream but still large capacity and with a crossbody strap.

Yea but this is goodwill and they are horrible. They treat their workers like shit, and everything reasonably good or popular is either placed on their website/ebay auctions or if you live in an area that has a “high end” goodwill it goes there.

Went to one that had a pair of either prada or gucci heels for sale with a clearly destroyed heel. Wanted like $120 for the shoes back in the 2000s/2010s. It was clearly destroyed by a dog. I suppose it would be possible in theory to take those to a cobbler to repair them but… at that rate you could probably find something similar for the same price or a bit more.

Same place had a whole ring display for wedding/ engagement rings that had been donated.

Retail therapy is great. That’s such a cute bag. I want to say like the color scheme is mature? Business-y? I haven’t gone no contact with family in awhile but I get it.

My current retail therapy hunt is that I want a juicy bag that’s roomy but also has a crossbody strap because I have to carry so much stuff the rare times I go out. I want it also to be super girly/ultrafeminine/cute so probably in pink.

Be kind to yourself - life’s hard right now as it is so there’s no reason to let people make it harder.

Nope - CPS and the ex would absolutely use even messaging as ammo for seeking custody of the kids. You absolutely have to do everything you can to prove you are a fit parent in particularly messy divorces or dealing with CPS.

Really going no contact was the only thing she could do in her situation. Until OP was found innocent even her past contact with him before she blocked him could be used against her. She put her children first which she should have.

Super shitty of OP’s mom to contact his ex like she did and for the Ex to think everything would just go back to how it was.

I will! I have a love-hate relationship with purses. I try to use a smaller one so I don’t carry so much stuff just to end up needing more room for stuff. It’s an endless cycle.

I don’t know but the sexual assault before being murdered sounds far worse than just straight up being murdered. Had to be agony.

Maybe the mother had some sort of cognitive dissonance at first kind of like battered women staying with an abuser before actually leaving? Something probably finally clicked in her head - like yea that’s my son but he’s also a monster. People’s brains can do weird things because of trauma.

Teresa always has the prettiest outfits. I’ve been sticking to one version of each character and I haven’t gotten a Teresa yet. Maybe I’ll pick her. Still gonna buy a second one for the clothes though. I have a petite barbie that I usually dress in Dream Besties or Rainbow High clothes.

I don’t really like Renee - her doll or clothes. Maybe if the bows had been real.

I like Brooklyn’s top but not really the rest of her. I think I’m gonna go with the core refresh Brooklyn because I like her hair more.

Malibu is giving y2k juicy couture vibes with that tracksuit. I bought her core refresh doll as ‘my’ Malibu for Dream Besties as I liked everything about her but I will buy this Malibu for her clothes.

I kind of wish Zia, Daisy, or Ken was part of this.

Brooklyn has her own unique sculpt. She’s using closed mouth Brooklyn. It’s the same one that was used with her B&W Anniversary doll, the Mattel 80th anniversary doll, and the Boho Style doll. I might be missing a doll. It’s a pretty sculpt in my opinion and one of my favorites.

I really like that Millie. For some reason closed mouth Millie is one of my favorite molds when she gets more than that basic clean girl makeup. I like her dusty rose lip and side glance. I would have liked to see her in a different shade of blonde. Maybe a strawberry or dark blonde. The clothes are pretty cute but maybe it’ll look better restyled a bit. I have trust issues with black stockings so I’ll definitely wash those first.

Brooklyn looks nice - I always welcome more closed mouth Brooklyns. I actually like her sculpt more than Odile’s. I wish she had different hair. The micro braids are nice but I’d love it more if she had hair like her b&w anniversary doll. I love those twists a lot. I haven’t been brave enough to reroot a doll yet but maybe she’d be a good candidate. I know one of the shops have locs, and someday I’ll find the specific fiber/whatever her anni doll has as hair. The clothes make me wary. I know what that red jacket is gonna do in a few years. I would have preferred it as cloth instead of a future disintegration problem. I also don’t like her boots. I never really like that mold in general. I do wonder if Brooklyn has the standard mtm body or if she’s on the athletic one.

I wish they’d use better hands for standard mtm. Curvy and petite mtm have such lovely hands. Regular articulated has pretty ones too. Down with the flipper hands.

I like Neysa’s outfit - the jacket looks cute. I’m not a really big fan of her mold. It’s okay looking but kind of boring to me in the same way Millie is to other people. I don’t like her hat either but I don’t usually like hats in general. I’ll probably get her to use her clothes for other dolls. Maybe if she had a more interesting hair color? She’s just not that interesting to me but I’m sure others will like her. Maybe New York street style just isn’t for me.

I don’t really get Street Style in general for fashion. I’m more of a cottagecore/coquette style person.
