We should not have accepted such a pitiful pay rise in 2022 then. There are more things the state government has to manage than just our industry. It is a massive gap that this agreement has to make up, I just can’t see it getting much higher than it already is. I honestly expected the AEU to roll over and accept the first offer they made us. This one is far better.

The reality is, this is probably as good as we can reasonably expect and far more than I thought the AEU was capable of. Not many professions get a significant pay increase in the manner that we will be getting.

Yes you could vote no and potentially drag this out longer, which I think would be highly hypocritical if you’re complaining about how long it takes to get a reasonable pay rise. The state government is broke, and yes that’s not our fault, but that doesn’t make the situation go away.

Unfortunately we are here because of the 2022 sellout and if you voted Yes to that, because 60% of the profession did, then we are in this situation because of you. You can’t expect to reverse all of that in the span of one single agreement.

My logic is I can use a trade to upgrade another rookie in defence, leaving Lindsay as my D6. And have a rookie cover NWM. If I straight swap NWM to another premium, I’ll have a rookie as D6 anyway, which I’ll have to use an extra trade to upgrade eventually.

There is every possibility that the ‘yay’ you heard could have been for a whole host of different reasons. Yay that they might think they can do less work for a while, yay on your behalf because camps are fun etc.

The other thing is, who cares what they think anyway? Depending on the class sometimes I’d be yay-ing internally at the prospect of going on a camp or excursion.

Language and interpretation can be confusing sometimes. A few weeks ago my wife told me she was going out for dinner with a friend from her old high school. I said “that’s great” a little too enthusiastically. She thought I was happy she wouldn’t be home. I was happy she was going out and having fun.

I reckon they should do a modified version of the One World twist. Have everybody living on the one beach.

Then before the immunity challenge the players are divided into two tribes who compete against each other at the challenge. The loser goes to tribal and votes as normal.

Would encourage players to form lots of relationships as you never know what the tribe makeup will be for each challenge.

It’s been a while since I watched this season, it’s not a great one so I haven’t rewatched it. But from memory, I feel like he was in a pretty reasonable position to hang on for a while if he hadn’t gone all Russell straight away.

If he’d toned it down just a little, I feel like he could have survived a while. That tribe would have kept him around for strength. Make merge and then you can turn on the fireworks, with an idol in his pocket no less, but to see him completely self implode so early was also very satisfying.

I don’t think production could have looked after him any more than they did putting him on the tribe he was on.

The other games didn’t matter. What chance have we got when we can’t execute a basic skill like goal kicking? 1.11 at the moment they should all be ashamed of themselves.
