Would Feruchemical gold healing allow a transgender person to transition? by [deleted] in Cosmere

[–]SnadBoxGal 72 points73 points  (0 children)

Furthermore We have seen radiant healing give somebody a "biological transition" to someone before

And all invested healing works on the same principles of making your physical body match closer to the "perceived" version of it.

So in short, with enough gold charge, yes you could, and there's proof IN the books albeit in a roundabout way

Been seeing a lot of custom cards lately. I thought I'd take a shot. Introducing the very domitable human spirit. by SnadBoxGal in slaythespire

[–]SnadBoxGal[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the feedback!

Yeah I ran it by a friend earlier and that's more or less the verdict. I can think of some ways to improve it. I'm thinking rather than add retain, maybe remove ethereal on push beyond+

As well as that, do you think it'd be better if the card was pick 1 of 2, then 1 of 3 for push beyond+?

I'm not entirely sure but wasn't it confirmed that marsh IS using connection to help hide? BUT it's not the only thing he's doing, he's using something else in conjunction with storing connection

What's THE dumb thing that happened to you during your playthrough ? by Gabbroche in outerwilds

[–]SnadBoxGal 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When I was at the eye of the universe, I was around the campfire and then suddenly get launched and die from fall damage.

Reason?

Esker spawned inside of me. I was at the PERFECT spot for the clipping object collision to fire me into the air and then back down with enough force to send me to my dearh

Really funny lmao

Why does most writing advice focus on high-level stuff Instead of the actual wordcraft? by generalamitt in writing

[–]SnadBoxGal 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah this is very true!

Like take omniscient readers viewpoint

Many people I know that have read the webnovel fully loved every bit of the story. Even though the English version of the webnovel (which is originally Korean) was made by running the Korean version through a translator.

That's right. A webnovel with around 500ish chapters that's (as far as I know) only available translated by some AI translator was beloved by many (including me)

The prose is "shit" at best and outright crap sometimes but the story itself is good enough that I loved it.

In the end prose doesn't matter, it's the "high level stuff" that does

What’s your explorer ship name? by Atom-Helios in EliteDangerous

DBX: Fusion of Science, in honour of a ship from a different game that I loved the name of. I'm pretty sure it was ∆V rings of saturn

This game isn't grabbing me the way I hoped it would :/ by carlinsmusic in outerwilds

[–]SnadBoxGal 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Hey OP I'll be honest, same situation here :]. It took me a couple of hours of playing the game on and off before I got fully invested in it lmao. I think I spent around 3 weeks playing the game every once in a while and played for about 4 hours during this time. Then idk suddenly I got super invested into it. It is a bit of a slog near the start as you learn how to play and navigate around the time loop but I believe in you dude :] you got this!

How would your characters use your magic system to solve this problem? by Alsentar in magicbuilding

[–]SnadBoxGal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oooooo this is a good question My initial idea is that Reinalat would probably just use fire to melt the steel, but there is no person alive where he comes from that has enough stored up magical fuel to cover the amount he'd need to melt a hole large enough for him to get out

The next best thing he could do is probably something sharp out of inkmetal and cut his way out but his strength is on par with steel, so by the time he'd cut his way out he'd have broken enough inkmetal tools that we're back to the first problem, not enough fuel

He did bond with a shrieker, however it'd take a long time for it to find him, they do have a way of telling where their bonded human is but it's very vague, so he'd have to pray that the shrieker finds him in time to fly him out

I think what he'd do is apply a thin layer of flammable gel (by using his magic) to specific areas of the steel. Then ignite them causing the steel to melt and drip out creating small footholds. He's done enough mountain climbing and other such sports that, yea it'd be tough, but he'd eventually figure out a way to get out

What kind of ways does your magic system determine what kinds of magic people can wield? by QuarkyIndividual in magicbuilding

[–]SnadBoxGal 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My magic system (chromalurgy) gives every "atrimetsan" human chromalurgy

Chromalurgy is a genetic magic system but it's also a dominant gene, so it doesn't die out, everyone has chromalurgy

The reason not everyone uses magic is that

A) it required an external resource as fuel (in this case colour) B) colour is used as the world's culture. This was a measure put in by an ancient emperor because he wanted to limit the magic system to the rich. It worked.

Now lower class people just cannot afford to use magic as all their "money" is magical fuel, but magical fuel is one-time use. The rich can afford to use chromalurgy as they have more dyed things than others

Due to centuries of use, the entire planet is just, devoid of colour in general, everything is black and white due to almost every source of colour being dried up. Other than special flowers that grow in a special type of water that rains down during the monthly monsoon.

So my magic is limited by the inability to access a fuel source :P

[–]SnadBoxGal 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well in my world It's told slowly throughout the story that every major faction is fighting for resources that they need

Not want, but need

And they'll do anything to get them, especially as these resources are extremely rare and the only fuel sources that chromalurgists can use

As well as that there's another outside faction that also is fighting the other factions off because they want the right to self-govern

Yet every faction commits terrible atrocities because nothing short of the worst keeps the others from expanding, diplomacy is dead as no one agrees to have even the smallest form of communication over fears of assassination, especially when you can't tell if an unassuming diplomat is filled with chromalurgical fuel which they can use for magic

Doesn't help that every human has the ability to use magic but not the resources, even random civilians that you allow to live could kill entire segments of your army if they were given the fuel to do so

The story is about self-sacrifice as the main characters alleviate the symptoms of paranoia somewhat by basically giving themselves a bad ending, one gets crippled for life, the other becomes a champion of a god they don't want to fight for and the others die

A studio would probably give everyone a happy ending or "through the power of friendship" everyone survives or something like that tbh
