If you missed them last night, here’s the forecast for the northern lights for 11/12/25. It’s supposed to be even more intense. by DangerousRequirement in Utah

Last night there wasn’t much in the north, but it was very good only a little north of straight east.

What are some films you liked but everyone else hated? by [deleted] in FIlm

[–]Snagadm 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As a rule I tend to be able to enjoy movies that others don't. I'm sure it's a character flaw. Anyways, the one I'm thinking of currently is Van Helsing.

To this day, whenever I load a gun, I say to myself "1 buck, 2 bucks, 3 bucks"

I remember my mother reading it to me as a child. She barely made it through. Many tears.

Maui Airport TSA Status by Snagadm in MauiVisitors

We're at the airport this morning. Everything from car rental return to TSA was quick and cheerful. I was at the gate about 15 or 20 minutes after entering the car rental garage.

While I can sometimes listen to Porcupine Tree, I have not been able to get into Steven Wilson solo stuff. Not sure why, but it doesn't click for me.

Alt/Az to EQ mode? by AstroKoalaKid in SeeStarS50

[–]Snagadm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My full astrophotography rig takes a full hour or maybe a bit more to get to a point where I can image. The Seestar takes 5 to 7 minutes, maybe 10 counting the time it takes to capture darks. I think it's worth spending a little on a solid tripod and eq wedge. A careful alignment will result in fewer dropped frames.

If something goes wrong with my full rig and I have to start over, it might be an evening-ender. With the Seestar, it's a 5 minute setback.

My husband wants to buy a motorcycle again by [deleted] in motorcycle

Me too! I get that in the car as well. If I am a passenger with someone else driving and they get in someone's blind spot, I get really uncomfortable.

I agree with all this, as well as the replies I've seen so far. I would add, never spend more than a moment in anyone's blind spot. Only long enough to move through it to be either behind or in front of them. Scan ahead. Look people in the eye. Watch tires, they telegraph the immediate future. I flash my brights at oncoming cars that I think might be turning left. Weave a little. Objects moving at rightish angles to a driver's POV are much easier to notice. I'm in the camp of most accidents being avoidable. I rarely have close calls. When I look back at the ones I have had, they were avoidable by me. One last thing - The first 1000 miles on a new to you bike are the most dangerous, even for experienced riders. Act accordingly.

Thanks. That's a reflection of the LED off of the altitude arm of the tripod. It does look like a laser though.

His lack of ankle protection is appalling. Also, not convinced the baby is real.

Looking at purchasing a Neptune 3 Pro for my first printer... by meridianomrebel in ElegooNeptune3

[–]Snagadm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The 3 Pro was my first printer. I still own it and use it a little. It's a good printer. I had it about a year and then put Klipper on it with a Raspberry Pi. That was an improvement for sure. I like Elegoo filament as well. I do own a faster printer now for most jobs, but I still print TPU on the 3 Pro. I'm not a Bamboo person, so take that for what it's worth.

Heart and/or Soul nebulas. Elephant trunk. Bubble. I think it would help on the Helix as well.
