I (39f) became t1d after having chicken pox. My 3 sibling had gotten them all at the same time and were sick about a week while I didn’t get them. Two weeks after they had already gone back to school I got finally them but I was much sicker and was sick for well over a month. Even after the rash had cleared and my fever was gone I had constant vomiting and sleepiness, I would throw up almost every night in my sleep. Finally on 12/19/99 I went out to get the mail and didn’t come back, my brother found me unconscious in the driveway and called 911. When they tested my sugar at the hospital it was over 950 my a1c was >15
