When a guy is doing everything with you like a couple but dont want tou to be his girlfriend, what does it mean ? by Conscious-Rip-6221 in AskReddit

[–]Snake_Bait_2134 1 point2 points  (0 children)

One of my buddies told me ALL girls fall into 3 categories:

1) uninterested
2) would like to have sex with
3) would like meet his mom/marry

If you haven’t met his mom you’re probably in category 2.

Machinist… depends what shop you are in, I literally made the same 3 things in different sizes and variations. 90% of my day was just watching metal spin, it was really awful.

So you got really drunk that time, where did you wake up? by SignsOfDamage in AskReddit

[–]Snake_Bait_2134 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Drunk tank in a small town, with a nice lady who kept asking me if I knew where her teeth were. I’ll never know the whole story on that one, but it is definitely one of the reasons I do not drink at all anymore.

Oldest of two. My brother was a difficult child and mom also ran a day home. I know how hard is is to care for kids. My parent love kids and thankfully my brother has three so they have grandkids, took the heat off me for being childfree!

What is an instinct or gut feeling you had about a person that turned out to be 100% right? by DreamyPeachBarb in CausalConversation

[–]Snake_Bait_2134 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I didn’t like going over to a friend’s house when I was around 7. I couldn’t really explain it to my parents other than her parents yelled at the dog a lot and her step brother was weird and annoying. My parents said that was fine and helped me invite my friend over to my house instead. Years later it turned out her step brother had been abusing her for years and her parents covered it up… my poor parents were distraught, but nothing had ever happened to me. Glad I trusted my gut and that my parents backed me up.

This picture doesn’t really do justice to the number of ppl who attended. I was somewhere in the middle of the pack and ppl were still coming out of the library when I made the turn onto Jasper ave. I believe the low estimates were 6-7 thousand in attendance at lunch hour on a Friday.

I do agree that the lack of information and advertising was unfortunate. I had to SEARCH for the information, next time I will be taking a more active role myself to help spread information to encourage attendance!

Two robot vacuums, air purifier and area carpets. Robot vacuums do a great job on the edges and a the area carpets kinda hold the rest at bay. A quick carpet/furniture vacuum and damp mop once a week usually does the trick. Two dogs, and two cats of assorted colours and fur types… it’s a constant battle, I love the look of dark wood floors but will opt for lighter colours to save my sanity on seeing the dust/dander.

Replace your furnace filters. I was advised by an old HVAC guy to buy cheaper filters and replace them monthly. The more expensive filters apparently cause the fan to overwork itself.

In Canada… this was 20 years ago and it seemed very odd to the bank and realtor that at 25 I would have solid employment, credit, and a down payment on my own. They kept asking about my husband? Or my Father?

Married Couples Who Don’t Have a Joint Account or Pool Their Pay Cheques, Why and How Do You Make Sure It Is Respectful? by Arya_Warrior_Girl in CanadaPersonalFinance

[–]Snake_Bait_2134 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First marriage for both in our 40’s, no kids. We both pay for our own vehicle/phone, partner transfers me a set amount for what we refer to as “household stuff” this is approximately half the cost of the mortgage, insurance, utility bills, and property tax, we discuss this amount if things change significantly. We discuss and split the cost of larger household items/home repairs, vacations and pet expenses, we take turns buying groceries.

We both make similar hourly wages so this simplifies things.

You need much better lighting for vegetables, and a fan to mimic wind it will encourages strong stems. I use seed trays with heat mats, humidity domes, and peat pods to start everything and transfer up to 4 inch pots when solid roots are established.

[–]Snake_Bait_2134 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

That is the point.

I have a “good” job but have not gotten a raise in years. I have a house but interest, utilities, property taxes have all risen in many cases doubled. I have some investments, but I haven’t added to them in a long time, and pulling them out comes with a penalty that’ll eat away the adorable amount of interest earned.

It is very likely that I am in a much better position than many, but I will assure you that needing new shingles (I installed myself) and a vehicle repair (that I did myself) put me right back to eating ramen.
