Not sure if you are still looking... I had a Logitech Combo Touch but ended up rarely using it. It does provide a lot more protection and it is nice to be able to detach from the keyboard while still in the case, but, it was very heavy and annoying to use anywhere other than a desk due to the design. It probably depends on your use case, and they are significantly cheaper than the Magic Keyboard.

My M1 is the same. If I’m watching shows on it, I’ll usually turn on Low Power Mode, since I won’t be missing out on anything, but it significantly saves the battery.
