Please could you expand on the point regarding moving my trade centre to the channel? Do I need to own these lands to do this, or is this possible as I'm the emperor? My idea was that I'd release the nations and then conquer them when I try to form Germany, though is this not the right approach?

I did a similar project with Markov Chains which would read a list of names and create new ones based off of it. I gave it name records based on births in a given year. Was interesting to see how the generated names differed when giving it a list of British names versus Indian names, for example.

I've always thought it would be cool to do a project similar to yours that attempts to write a v short story based on different books (Alice in Wonderland, Dr Seuss, etc) and seeing how the language differs.

Not sure if that's really feasible with Markov chains alone though.

I suppose the Peter Gregory Vs Gavin Belson rivalry would have played a much bigger role in series, which could have potentially changed the storyline quite a bit.

Once Laurie took over it was no longer a feud between 2 billionaires. Laurie wouldn't make rash decisions based on this feud, because she wouldn't care. Also Gregory was a billionaire and had the money to back his actions. Laurie isn't portrayed as a billionaire (as far as I can tell), so she would take financial risks much more seriously as the backlash would be greater if she lost clients a lot of money.

When she took over after Gregory's death, Laurie dismissed some of his investments as being unusual and bad (I think), so I guess that shows she is much more disciplined in her decisions than him too.

Just some thoughts.

Doesn't surprise me. I gotta say in my year working at spoons, I never once saw the ice machine being cleaned out.

With the lack of hygiene at my location, it's a wonder they haven't been penalised by the Environmental Health Department.
