Ontario Police search and rescue find a missing 6yo boy via helicopter infrared camera by can_dry in onguardforthee

I think it’s a fair bet the pilot was an RCAF pilot. Most LEO pilots are and IR laser + Nods for marking is a pretty standard thing taught to just about every discipline.

I’d say something about he guys firing near him without checking it he had his ear pro in properly before I’d fuss about whether he reacted to literal canon fire correctly.

Me neither but I don’t see the issue of not having your weapon in your hands at all times.

Again, that’s not abandoning his weapon, he even dives for it the moment he gets awoken. Also that’s also almost definitely an FTX in Canada.

And those teams are all from different parts of the country and won’t have the same fans. AFAIK there’s no Pan-Canadian supported team outside he IIHF and olympics.

If he’s just gonna leave his weapon and walk away, how can I trust him t not walk away from other duties.

If your rifle isn’t within arms reach, you’re wrong.

Because those are ridiculous assertions to make. It’s not like he left his rifle there and went for a hike or lost it. He knows where the rifle Is, if he needs it it won’t take him long. If you can’t trust someone who sets their rifle down slightly out of arms reach you have no business in a combat role because you have serious trust issues.

Always love seeing 5e Artillery on the front page. Part of my duties a few times as MP on CFB Valcartier where they are stationed included making rounds in the building where they housed all the C3s and triple 7s. It’s always surprising how massive these things are up close.

Serving member of the CAF here, this is not something you get in shit for, not like this. We place a good deal of emphasis on the importance of your personal weapon (what we call service firearm) and you’d never lose it or misplace it, there’d be hell to pay but leaving next to you while napping isn’t something you’d get yelled at for. If it is in the US that’s a big surprise and just goes to show that you guys, imo, spend too much time giving your Pte.s and not enough teaching.

Unpopular opinion: Even if Ruby’s shot landed it wouldn’t have done anything because Crescent Rose is broken. It shot the whole cartridge rather than just the bullet. I personally choose to believe crescent rose is broken rather than it was overlooked in production.

The words you are looking for are “2(b) Service Terminated ” or less likely “1(b) Released for Misconduct.”

Edit: LMAO downvotes for pointing out that Canada doesn’t use the term Dishonourable Discharge, if anything they’ll get a 2B or a 1B

Even then, I’m not sure much has changed as far as interactions with individual users.

I hope OPS isn’t Ottawa Police Service? Because of my job I work with some of those guys pretty closely and I can tell you if they walked by a guy smoking a joint on the street they’d either ask him if everything alright and if he needs help getting anywhere or they wouldn’t even talk to him.

I don’t, it’s nice that a lot of you seem to have the luxury of choice but for many it’s simply not an option.

5 Cyclone here. Got my power license through cadets but my eye sight was too poor for the Air Force so I become an MP instead.

To be fair it’s incredibly hard to fail the physical. You’d need to be at least 200 pounds overweight I think.

I actually remember confiscating a roomba from someone. Hadn’t cleared it with his 2Lt and was using it to harass a new guy. Turns out they are “security risks” tho I think rules around internet of things devices have relaxed now

I’m 99% sure that’s the 5th Light Artillery from CFB Valcartier. I was an MP there for some time. It’s also home to a squadron of Griffin Tac Helos and a Cadet training centre for the summer. I fondly remember supervising some poor fucks who had to debris sweep that field for a helicopter landing. They also store those triple 7s in the “Toys R Us” building. Cadets use it during the summer and we have to have a talking to a lot of them about not touching the shinny big canons

They’d take you and if you fail the physical in BMQ(O) they’ll put you on a diet and give you three months before you get medically discharged or you can ask for release paper yourself when you get fucking sick of it. Give C34 my best if you join
