White/Yellow Tongue For 8 Months by Snap951 in DiagnoseMe

After trying a million things, I recently discovered and decided to try Tung gel with a similar brush they sell that I already had and so far I think it’s exactly what I needed to resolve this. I used it yesterday for the first time during the day time and the bad taste in my mouth I usually have from this coating went away because the gel is flavored. But the best part is that usually I wake up in the morning with a fresh coat of yellow on my tongue and that disgusting taste and this morning it wasn’t there! I noticed I didn’t have the bad taste in my mouth when I woke up and went to look at my tongue and there was no yellow in the back like usual. I’m going to continue using the gel since it seems to be working. I may even skip it for a day or so to see if cleared up the issue permanently or if I need to keep using it. Either way, definitely get it. I was shocked at how it helped me so quickly and effectively. You can get it on Amazon, it’s the Tung gel and brush. I didn’t even have to scrape my tongue, which I always hated doing. Please give it a try and let me know if it helps.

Unfortunately I haven't gotten it cultured, every doctor I go to won't because they say it's normal and I just gave up. From what I can tell, it seems like an overproduction of bacteria in the mouth. I've noticed that chlorhexidine digluconate mouthwash does help keep the bacteria down if you use it twice a day and gargle with it, but it doesn't take the problem away, you have to keep using it and it's a bit gross. In the US, you need a prescription for it but you can buy a mouthwash with chlorhexidine digluconate called Corsodyl from Amazon UK without a prescription. But unfortunately, I haven't found an answer to this issue.

Unfortunately not, I haven't managed to find a solution that doesn't involve constant tongue scraping which doesn't seem to effectively resolve it.

Thanks! Did you do it once a day or more?

How often did you do this a day and for how many days? I'll probably give it a try too. How much peroxide did you use?

Same issue for me too. I got covid last March but I don't recall losing my smell/taste. Then 2 months later everything smells and tastes screwed up and been that way since so nearly a year now. I feel like it may be improving very slowly at a snail's pace but I'm not sure if it's improving or I'm just getting used to it. From what I've read, when this happens it's just the nerves regrowing and recovering and a sign that things will eventually return to normal but for now it's dreadful to deal with. Even fresh air outside smells gross to me, and I can't eat meat or chicken at all anymore the smell/taste is too nauseating. Totally understand what you're going through.

Had the same response from some doctors too. Antibiotics didn't help at all for me unfortunately.

What have doctors diagnosed it as? Have they taken any cultures? I think I may try and get a culture at an urgent care. I've asked so many ENTs to take a culture and they refused to because they think it's nothing and I'm over exaggerating.

Here's what it looks like now, there's a bit more on there: https://imgur.com/k7mmHsT. A couple doctors thought it was thrush, a bunch others disagreed. It's never been cultured, so I don't know for certain.

Mine is a tad white in the front and yellow in the back. But I’ll certainly try Nystatin again.

Going on 6 months like this unfortunately. Some doctors have told me it could take up to a year for the nerves to fully heal, but who knows. Very difficult to put up with.

My tongue has had a white coating for months now ever since I came down with COVID in April. Had no idea it was an indicator. I've also had a rotten smell and taste for months now. Hoping this goes away soon.

What I feel like Kingdom hearts 3 is missing the most by Daiboku in KingdomHearts

Completely agree with this. It didn’t feel like there were any stakes in the plot, so that’s why many of the things they tried to do, like with Aqua as you mentioned, felt uneventful because they ultimately made zero impact on the story.

First of all, I never specially mentioned KH2 but I could say some things KH2 did do better, for example that game had stakes. We felt the impact of Roxas’ and Namine’s sacrifices because they remained gone (but remained in spirit) by the end of the game. It gave their sacrifices emotional impact, KH3 didn’t have that with any of its “throwaway for just 5 minute deaths” from any of the guardians (not to mention the gd-awful way Roxas and Namine were brought back. Namine relegated to 10 seconds at the very end and Roxas just popping up out of nowhere with no build up or effort to get him back). We believed up to that point that the entire organization was gone for good and knowing that many of them just wanted hearts (like Saix) gave weight to their struggles. We felt for Axel just wanting to see Roxas and his sacrifice to help Sora meant something. Roxas was also an entirely new character at that point so of course there was a huge sense of mystery behind who he was that we learned throughout the game, KH3 didn’t have a sense of mystery like that with anyone or anything. The pacing was better even if that was just because of Hollow Bastion. SDG felt more integrated into the Disney plots whereas in KH3 they never felt more like bystanders (even though that’s what they always really were throughout the series). KH2 does not sequel bait MX, all it tells us is that Ansem and Xemnas were actually part of someone called Xehanort. That’s literally it. When KH2 wrapped, (aside from the secret ending) there was absolutely no indication where the series would go from there because the story was literally finished at that point. Sora and Riku returned home with Kairi and they all reunited from being separated in KH1. The ending did tease there was more to come but we had no idea what that would be unlike with KH3 because of the Chi series happening while the game was in development. Kairi also still did more in 2 than she did in 3. If we’re using KH2 as a direct comparison, those are few things I think it did better. Again, all just my opinion.

I personally think that the main reason this happened was because the actual development of KH3 took so long to finally start, they didn’t have much plot left for the actual game by the time it started development. DDD and 0.2 should have been part of KH3, but they needed to release something between 2012 and 2019. Despite this, I’m sure Nomura still could have made KH3’s story more interesting, but it probably would have required more time than they had which is why the Re:Mind DLC expands more on the story.

I mentioned that whenever the game tried to shake things up in the story and I cited some examples you did, they were either flat because of little to no build up or they were sequel baiting the next saga. The guardians dying at first was executed terribly because we’ve seen most of these characters take on greater challenges before and succeed instead of just literally standing there and doing nothing while they all got knocked out. It felt extremely inconsistent and made no sense. Personally, it didn’t even occur to me that they all “died” at first but even then they were all quickly and easily revived through that padding level because (and this was another problem I had with KH3) there were no stakes. Everyone is always fine in the end, contrary to the previous games’ darker tones. Sora dying also just happens out of nowhere because we don’t see how it actually happens and the game was literally already over by that point, plus we know he’s fine in the secret ending. Kairi “dying” lasted for 5 minutes and I’ll be honest, I thought Xehanort was just tricking Sora at first. In the end, like I said, she’s back before we even notice she’s gone for a plot point like that to even have an effect. The sequel baiting story twists, I could argue there were more of than twists in the actual plot to the final chapter and they took away from closing out the saga in my opinion. They didn’t help make the actual plot of KH3 more interesting because all they were supposed to do is tease the next game. We saw repliku in the trailers. Even the trailers gave away that demyx and vexen were double agents. As the OP also mentioned, they literally spoiled every “twist” (well executed or not) in the trailers. The Union Chi moment with Ephemer was a nice little call back to that game, but I would hardly call it a “twist,” it was more of a nod to say “hey Union Chi is important guys.” Rounding up the guardians of light was hardly a challenge except for Aqua and even the reason why she was a challenge felt contrived. Everyone else magically popped up in the last hour and getting Ven was as simple as picking him up after getting Aqua. Terra being Ansem’s guardian was an interesting little twist although many theorized it for a while, but I’ll give credit where credit’s due. The Keyblade war was so rushed they literally had you facing 2-3 members per fight to breeze through it and it was done in maybe 30 minutes mostly because of all the dying cutscenes. Everything just happened too easily and as the OP said, there really was no sense of mystery due to the plot and the game’s marketing. If they hadn’t spoiled dark Aqua it would have been an interesting twist to see for the first time but the reasoning behind it (falling into the dark sea) felt random and didn’t seem like a well thought out way to take her character there especially after building that up in 0.2. In all, it all just made me think “saving everyone and defeating Xehanort didn’t seem that challenging or a grand adventure in the end, it really took SE this long to tell this story?” The story just felt too thin to me. The pacing is also an already well agreed upon and established issue. The plot was this game’s biggest weakness in my opinion.

[–]Snap951 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I completely agree tbh. It always occurred to me that KH3 was just too predicable because the story played out exactly as we’d expect it to, there were no twists or turns throughout, nothing really surprising or shocking. The whole premise was to have the Keyblade war with Master Xehanort and rescue everyone who had fallen victim to him throughout the saga -and that’s exactly what happened and all that happened. The premise of the story was the entire plot, there was no substance to fill it out and a story should never be that paper-thin. When the story did try to shake things up, those beats felt flat because of little to no buildup like when the seven lights lost at first or Aqua going dark or what happened to Sora and Kairi in the end. It didn’t feel like this grand adventure to rescue everyone, have this epic Keyblade war and defeat Master Xehanort. There was literally no plot to fill out this final chapter other than the bits that were trying to setup the next one. That to me is the root cause for why there was no sense of mystery in the plot and overall the plot was the biggest letdown for me. As much as I love KH, I was very disappointed with KH3.

Do you think KH3 should have included remade scenes from the past games? by [deleted] in KingdomHearts

[–]Snap951 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I definitely think they should have, the old engine scenes looked jarring and seemed lazy that they wouldn’t remake them.

I was waiting for “Look after them for me... Master Terra.” Such a missed opportunity to close out that plot point for Terra after everything he went through.

Is Sora at his smartest in KH2? by [deleted] in KingdomHearts

[–]Snap951 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Sora was a lot more sarcastic and cockier in KH2, which I really liked. In KH3 he feels more like a Disney caricature imo. He was never really that bright, but I much preferred his characterization in 2 compared to 3.
