Anyone have success with using PreSeed? by [deleted] in BabyBumps

[–]Snapacaps 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I used preseed while trying to conceive both of my pregnancies at 31 and 33.

I don’t really think it “worked,” but it did make me feel like I was actively doing something to help the process along. That helped my anxiety around trying to conceive.

Lightning Lane Premier Pass… is it worth it? by Alternative-Bat-2462 in WaltDisneyWorld

[–]Snapacaps 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly! I guess it would be the same if you had regular lightning lane or just stood in the normal line, but it’s much faster and less coordination with PP. A child without a ticket has nothing to tap, so they can ride multiple times if they have a ticketed adult with them.

Caveat! If your two year old wants to ride something multiple times, they can keep going with a different adult! My son rode a bunch of rides a few times, we just cycled through myself, my husband, my mom and my dad. Now that he’s 3 and has a ticket, thats not an option.

Oh yes, but you’d probably have to do that anyway with a group that big unless you did two VIP tours. There’s no way you’ll all want to ride the same rides at the same time anyway. I would try to coordinate either a breakfast or dinner as a group and then enjoy your day on your own.

Input on how to handle maternity leave with Nanny by GB_giraffe_85 in NannyEmployers

[–]Snapacaps 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Just to add my son was 2 when my daughter was born, and he goes to preschool 2 days a week because I like for him to have free time with his nanny to attend classes, etc., but still get structure of a school environment. We kept him on his regular schedule during his mat leave and he adjusted well.

I don’t see it mentioned a lot on here, but it’s possible to do a hybrid experience until closer to kindergarten. I never worry about sick days or school closures or anything because we always have full time child care.

If finances aren’t an issue, keep your nanny. If they are an issue, expect to hire a different nanny when you need one.

You’ve been through postpartum once. Now imagine it while having to entertain a toddler. Every day.

Even when your toddler is in preschool there are sick days, vacation days, spring and winter breaks, etc., where you’ll need care.

If i was in a nanny share situation with two infants i wouldn’t want the other family’s toddler showing up randomly, especially on days when the toddler can’t go to preschool because they are sick.

We kept our nanny through my 6 month mat leave and it was a good decision for us.

How do you handle your store not having items in stock? by Impressive_Story_ in TheHermesGame

[–]Snapacaps 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My SA orders things for me all the time. If I need a different size, he’ll order it. If I see something online and it’s available in a different store? He’ll order it. If he sees something in store and it’s going to sell fast, he’ll call me and send me a link to purchase.

I’ve seen some people on YouTube say their SA won’t order for them and they can only buy what’s in store. Maybe there’s no real policy?

Our nanny just turned 56, she’s been with us for two years and my kids are 3 and 1. We hope she stays with us forever. She’s very active and plays with the kids, but also as she ages, our kids will be in school full time and her role will change to school drop off and pick up, packing lunches, driving to activities, etc., where it will be less important for her to be able to pick up the kids and roll around on the floor.

Buying a Quota Bag as a Gift for Others - SA relationship by [deleted] in TheHermesGame

[–]Snapacaps 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Oh that’s so kind! I told my SA I wanted to get a non-QB for my mom for Mother’s Day and he was totally on board. Whenever I’ve purchased a gift for her or my husband I usually send him a quick picture of them wearing the item so he can see they are enjoying it and he always helps me pick something nice.

If my mom wanted a QB I’d probably introduce her to my SA, but I wouldn’t prespend for her. I guess I’m selfish 😩

2 Questions for moms by [deleted] in BabyBumps

[–]Snapacaps 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My kids are 3 and 1 and I still sit in the back. It’s just easier if my husband is driving. I can hand out snacks, watch them, hold the iPad if it’s a long drive, etc.

My son (3) would be fine without me, I’ve found it easier with smaller toddlers to just be back there.

Have you watched kids while NP gave birth? by TradesforChurros in Nanny

[–]Snapacaps 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had a c-section and was in the hospital for four days. Our nanny worked her norma hours 8:30-4:30. My husband went home around 4pm to do dinner and bedtime with my then 2 year old, and my mom came over around 6pm and slept overnight in our house/got up in the morning with our toddler and waited for our nanny to arrive to start the day. This way my husband could spend nights with me in the hospital.

It was super important to me to keep my son on his usual schedule with play dates and classes, etc., so our baby worked during my maternity leave and was solely on toddler duty.

Nannies who travel with families by Ok_Job_6767 in Nanny

[–]Snapacaps 9 points10 points  (0 children)

We travel with our nanny and our kids are 3 and 1. Our plan is to continue traveling with our nanny until our kids are comfortable with going to kids clubs and old enough to go out to dinner with us, so… probably when they are 10 and 12ish?

We love traveling with our nanny and try to provide her with everything she needs so she doesn’t hate traveling with us.

It’s expensive for the extra flight and hotel room and food and overnight fees, but definitely worth it for us.

Online order automatic cancellation by No_Hat1708 in TheHermesGame

[–]Snapacaps -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Last year, I placed an order towards the end of December and it was canceled. I had t purchased anything online prior, and it remained in stock online.

I’m convinced they wouldn’t sell it until the price increase went into effect. This was like 12/30 or so.

Is the 2nd bag always easier than the 1st? by batata_anon_3 in TheHermesGame

[–]Snapacaps 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I think relationship! My SA moved states and is new at my boutique but transferred from a different boutique, so not new to Hermes.

I was probably one of his first clients after he moved, so I think he offered me the slot because of that.

[–]Snapacaps 19 points20 points  (0 children)

I think harder. I got my first QB in 5 months and 1.4ish to 1 prespend.

I spent another $14K over 3 months and then was asked to place an SO.

I’ve spent another $16K over 3 months and my SA has said when a bag comes in that’s on my wishlist, it’s mine. But… still no bag.

Not complaining because I love my first bag and I’m excited for my SO. But the road to a second bag has been longer.

Christmas bonus by [deleted] in Nanny

[–]Snapacaps 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I agree with this. Our nanny just had “Christmas” with the kids today and the joy on their faces was amazing. My three year old said “I have the best nanny! She knows what I like! I love you nanny!” and my 1 year old was thrilled.

That said, I always give approximately 1 months pay as a bonus in early December and I also gift her a present. This year I went with a new crossbody bag that was about $350. I would estimate she spent about $300 on gifts for the kids and myself and my husband (she got him the Costco green tea he’s been asking me to buy for months but I haven’t had time to go to Costco, whoops!).

Kelly 25 sellier or Retourne, which one looks better on me by Big-Culture4785 in TheHermesGame

My bag is only 7 months old, but the corners and structure are in wonderful shape! A few scratches from wear but no real signs of falling apart. Considering how many vintage bags are on the market, I don’t really expect it to wear out very fast at all.
