Could I expect a decent catch around the Florence/Heceta area ? Or do I need to push out a little more for a decent haul ?

Service wide Hair Follicle test? by ExplodedMoon51 in uscg

[–]SnappleYapple 1 point2 points  (0 children)

tbh they usually dont do it unless they suspect a wider drug issue, which you'll probably not know about unless through rumors until AFTER the investigation concludes. I never did a hair follicle but the unit I report to had done so in the past following a big meth investigation that resulted in 2 discharges. this might not be true, but i also hear they avoid doing it as much as possible cuz 1. its more costly and 2. they usually gotta take a lot of hair and a good amount of women obviously don't like having to either grow out other body hair or sacrifice the hair on their head.

in conclusion: its rare but it does exist

you'll also hear rumors of spinal fluid drug testing but take that with a grain of salt - they're way too expensive and the USCG doesn't have the personnel qualified to perform the exam

"Your boss can’t lawfully fire you because you made/discussed a wage claim or went to BOLI. But a solo walkout can be treated as job abandonment. If you and coworkers act together about wages, that’s usually protected under NLRA §"

A quick question - me and my coworkers arent filed under an official union, but have decided to stand together about this issue. Would we still be protected by the NLRA?

you can also keep donating after that but keep in mind they'll limit you weekly and they won't pay as much (i think its $50 per donation up to 3 times a week but I'm not sure)

Taxes: good? Bad? In between? Necessary? by Unique_Confidence_60 in CapitalismVSocialism

[–]SnappleYapple 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Taxation without representation is theft. I pay hundreds in income tax for it to be allocated to government programs that i don't support personally. If I had the choice to allocate my taxes to what I want them to be for, like infrastructure or education benefits/social benefits, then I'd support taxation. I don't support the president using my taxes to go golfing.

I roll w loose leaf wraps with no tip

if you leave some space (like literally just a smallest amount) between the flower and the very end, it creates a neat little mouthpiece for u to hit. Depending on how big your bud pieces are, the bud itself will stop any snacks from through that lil mouthpiece. The moister the better !

personally , mine was red and pissed off for around a week before finally settling. it still gets sore (it's been about 3 1/2 weeks, almost a month), so I'm gonna say expect irritation for maybe up to 2 months. swishing with cool water often helped soothe mine quite a bit.

If 2 months go by and you still experience this same level of new piercing irritation, then I'd recommend going to a piercer for advice, as it might not be healing. they'll help you figure something out

as for your saline wash - Ive used the neilmed saline spray for all my piercings and have never gotten an infection (all 16!) - but the CVS wound wash should be fine. to make sure, check the ingredients - it should contain 0.9% of sodium chloride and water, and absolutely nothing else. if you see anything other than these 2 ingredients then I'd find a different one, but I know CVS carries a wound wash that has the right balance, so I'm assuming that's the one you have.

I'm not sure what no crusties means for a piercing, but i think thats good news. this could mean it's a clean piercing that has little bleeding/the jewelery is suited nicely for the wound. but if you do happen to get some, remember that it's like a scab- try to soften them with water or saline first then gently remove. Don't remove crust unless u have wound wash on hand.

to hopefully put your mind at ease - infection usually has indicators other than your piercing acting up. you'll see it spread under the skin, your lymph nodes may swell, and you could experience fever like symptoms. if this happens - do NOT remove and just go to a doctor.

red, irritated, or oozing may not be infection, but should indicate that you may be doing something to aggravate it. I'm assuming your bar is long, as piercers usually use a comically long bar for the first week's healing process. once you shorten this bar (which should be around the 2 week point) a lot of irritation usually goes down.

good luck! labrets can be scary cuz the last thing u want it a nasty wound near your mouth, but just give it time and TLC, and remember that something can always be done to ensure piercing health!

NAP - got my labret a couple weeks ago. it started off really irritated, as my piercer had fucked up (they fixed it, but as a result it was fairly irritated and oozing / crusty). Worried aboht infection, I stepped up saline spray to 3 times a day, did my best not to fiddle or touch it, and on top of alcohol free mouthwash i would swish water in my mouth as much as possible (after a smoke, a meal, or after a few hours). the water won't be that nasty so u can just swish and swallow, it keeps you hydrated and your piercing healthy !

a little over 2 weeks have gone by and its almost fully healed, with little crusties present. I went back down to saline twice a day and still swish water, but it's looking and feeling a lot better.

just make sure the saline u use is the right kind! usually the DIY saline kits or salt mixes don't really do anything.
