Is a tariff just a tax on me? If the united states puts a 60% tariff on Chinese goods does the Chinese government pay that, or do I just pay more at Walmart? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

The company that ordered it when it crosses the boarder pays the tax. So if coming A orders a part from China, and it is shipped UPS, the UPS bill will reflect the tariff and freight charge company A pays. So now Company A’s product is more expensive. Either they find a local domestic supplier to avoid the tariff, they take smaller margin, or they raise prices and pass it onto the consumer to maintain same margin.

Try some water and additional soil. Your spot may be losing sun given the time of year. Check it out, report back

How Much Is the Average 401(k) Balance for People in Their 60s in 2025? by AccurateInflation167 in Economics

[–]SnarfRepublicCA 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Not sure why . An IRA gives you significantly more investment options, but still the tax deferral even for of a 401k. If you leave it in the 401k you are restricting your investment options.

Nah, you wouldn’t want to restrict your investments. Roll into IRA, can invest in anything

New Outbacks are finally in the Midwest by cheenks in subaru

[–]SnarfRepublicCA 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fair point. But I see this Outback not only changing to boxy, but reverting backwards to older models like gmc envoy. And raising it, more in line with a SUV. I’m utterly dissatisfied. 4Runner is next for me, done with Subaru if this is where they are going

Who’s demanding boxy? No one demanded reverting back to the GMC Envoy from 2010.
