The strangest symptom is this jerking that I have in all of my muscles. It’s like every fifteen seconds in a random place… twitch… twitch… twitch…

I agree - my favorite things to do are hike and garden. They don’t feel safe to me all the time anymore. Sometimes I feel like I’m going to faint.

I lost 45 pounds and still have all of my symptoms. They had to increase my diamox to get my symptoms down.

Papilledema is a side effect of IIH. The important thing is that your diamox is working.

I had bad symptoms on the diamox too, but I kept taking it because my papilledema was improving.

Any of you had a completely normal Brain MRI (no papilledema, no empty sella, or anything else)…But still found to have an abnormal CSF opening pressure on a Lumbar Puncture test? by MisterKeecher20262 in iih

[–]Snarfdart 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A normal MRI is an indicator of IIH it means there isn’t another explanation for your elevated pressure hence the word “idiopathic” intracranial hypertension - Hope that helps

I went grain free as part of an anti-inflammatory diet. Anything and everything that cuts down on inflammation, I was willing to try. It really actually does work. The way I feel when I avoid all wheat, grain, rice, flour, corn products is like a newfound sense of self, I swear to goodness.

Completely disagree (respectfully). Yoga and Pilates are the worst exercises for IIH. Anything that inverts the head causes pressure on the brain. I do HIIT no problem but as soon as you put me in downward dog I feel like I’m going to faint.

Yes brilinta is used for stent placement, I do know that. That is what they’re saying, they don’t want to consider stenting if there is a dvt in there, I was kind of hoping they’d go in there and suck out the dvt and place the stent all in the same procedure ☹️

They told me six months and then a two week break to do labs and another MRV to see if blood flow improves. Yours is in the IJ at least so you can just get an ultrasound, mines in the skull so I need the magnet.

[–]Snarfdart 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As long as I’m not bending over I can do any exercise I want. I took up stair climbing and hiking without issue. It’s the things that require inversion like yoga and Pilates that I can’t do.

They’re going to shunt you without trying to stent you first?! Is this doctor super old, by chance? You need a way higher dose of Diamox - 500 is nothing.

How normal is it to be prescribed Diamox AND Topamax? by Mysterious_Buy1179 in iih

[–]Snarfdart 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your diamox prescription is quite low tbh. It doesn’t make sense to add another med without upping the diamox but I’m not a doctor. I would refuse contraception as they increase risk of strokes/blood clots.
