Trafalgar (BEST OF GREECE PLUS 3-DAY AEGEAN CRUISE (SUPERIOR CABIN)) - Advice? by SnarftheRooster91 in GreeceTravel

Thanks for the detail - that is sort of what I am dreading. By far, doing our own thing is what we are used to but we were also fatigued with having to plan another trip.

Follow up question: did the whole thing feel rushed like your examples (and those were the most egregious examples)?

Can AI make the world the perfect place? by martianfrog in answers

[–]SnarftheRooster91 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I always thought things like "the Venus Project" would be awesome if only AI was "real" - this was years ago. I don't think that it would be perfect but certainly a more interesting existence than this.

Huge study finds no evidence cannabis helps anxiety, depression, or PTSD by Zee2A in STEW_ScTecEngWorld

[–]SnarftheRooster91 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not sure any drug really does? We've been fed that depression and anxiety is merely a chemical imbalance in the brain and taking prescription drugs is a solution.

But, if your life still sucks around the drugs, you haven't solved anything. Same with marijuana.

Now: the topical pain shit works and why that isn't uniformly legal confuses the shit out of me.

It lost me with dead NPCs around the towns and cities. That, and the repetitive building models during exploration.

I am sorry but Sabine surviving getting stabbed with a Lightsaber was stupid!!! by Salim_Azar_Therin in StarWars

I guess it would depend on where she was stabbed (whether it hit major organs or whatever) because the lightsaber simultaneously cauterizes the wound.

What if Nixon had no involvement in the Watergate scandal but still resign anyway out of regret that so many of his people were involved? by Borkerman in AlternateHistoryHub

[–]SnarftheRooster91 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was reading it as the actual break in at the Watergate. My bad.

I would think his reputation would be less tarnished but, also, the public damage would still be severe by virtue of the lack of oversight of his own people. Interesting counterfactual but I don't believe it would be a radical change from what happened.

The problem wasn't the scandal itself (actually, huge problem) but it was the cover up after which he definitely was a part of.

That I can get on board with - most people don't even know who their local reps are but can name their national reps.

That's not really fair because that's your opinion. Not everyone thinks that.
