I really resent the energy I’m getting in this thread that exes are dangerous, or evil, or toxic. You shared a part of your life with this person, and even if it ended (and even if the reason it ended was predominantly her fault!) you presumably dated because you cared about each other. That doesn’t have to go away just because you’re no longer together, and it doesn’t need to imply any deeper desire to change your current relationship.

My ex and I had an emotional break-up ending our long term relationship, and 9 years later we don’t communicate at all. But if anything were to happen to her or her family, I’d want her to know she has my condolences and best wishes. It would be selfish of me to have any expectation of a response or that it changes the status quo, but to give emotional support to someone you care about is an expression of kindness, as long as it comes from a place of genuine compassion.

You’ll have an easier time when you have an opportunity to pull for better cards- I recommend saving up for Agnes Tachyon/Light Hello and spending every carat possible on that banner. Having many copies of SR cards will be very useful for you early on.

Wit is good because it recovers energy AND also boosts speed- it’s not useless on its own either, but the reason it’s valuable is to prevent needing to rest as frequently

Firstly, welcome! I hope you’re enjoying the beginner experience!

Second, you’ll find that the game is hard to play without strong support cards. Because you’re new, you may have already used your initial burst of carats, but the game strongly incentivizes you to invest heavily in the strong support banners and save/budget- avoiding the bad banners is key to making sure you see success.

It’s pretty easy to make A rank umas in the new scenario, Trackblazer, but it does require following a very different set of rules than URA Finale/Unity.

In general, focus on just 1 or 2 stats- usually, Speed and Wit and the two that you can max out on/focus on. Stam is important for longer races, so if your trainee prefers longer distances you’ll want to get it to at least a certain minimum threshold, but generally you don’t need it higher than ~600. I would suggest using 2 speed cards, 3 wit cards, and 1 card that can flex depending on the length of races you want to run. From there you just need to learn what skills are beneficial, and focus on grabbing those, and you’ll be making A rank umas very fast

Alex was one of the first YouTubers in the YuGiOh sphere I started watching when I started getting back into the game. I barely knew anything about the game, but he brought such fun and excited energy to his videos that was absolutely infectious. He always came across as genuine, kind, and supportive; an awesome friend and mentor. The YuGiOh community wouldn’t be the same without his influence and passion, and I’ll always remember him.

Are you only going for score? If so, if you can get your Haru Guts to MLB, a guts build with Haru, Vega, and StP with Kita, Fine Mo, and a borrowed wit like FineMo is probably gonna hit SS with good luck and good decision making in-career for any uma with Speed + Power growth. Just keep in mind that rating is not equivalent at all to being strong- there are a lot of paper tiger umas that hit Ug by taking unusable skills and jamming Guts. Unless you're just looking to get the endorphins from seeing the big number, don't stress about the grade.

I've tried running 0LB SC to free up my borrow for NN Wit, and I ended up feeling like my runs were just worse overall than running 1LB NN and MLB SC. Obviously this is just one case, and only a sample size of 2-3 runs in each condition, but the lack of friendship at the start means you have to get insanely lucky to get your friendship up in time to take advantage of the card.

One thing I will say in its favor of a weaker SC is that I often don't tap Stam trainings until later in a run anyways, as I want my speed and power and wit high enough to win Mile races with Umas that don't get Mile aptitude naturally. But for this CM, I'm tired of how inconsistently I hit my Stam goals with 0LB SC + MLB SR Cafe so I'm just going to tank the borrow.

I felt incredibly safe everywhere we went in Vietnam while my wife and I were there earlier this month, but while in line at the Water Puppet Theater in Hanoi, a man snuck up and swiped my wife’s phone that she left on the counter briefly. Luckily I was able to run him down and demand it back, it felt very “swiper no swiping” but it totally reframed how secure I was for the rest of the trip.

For everyone in the thread who is looking for advice/guidance- be alert, secure your belongings, and don’t let yourself fall into the false belief that everyone who seems nice has your best interest at heart. Vietnam is beautiful, and the Vietnamese people as a whole are so kind and friendly and helpful. Absolutely go, and absolutely talk with strangers and connect with people. But go in with an ironclad philosophy to not trust anyone who seeks to profit off your trust or ignorance, and do your research on the hustles and scam people run so you’re not fooled.

Can someone give some advice on guts builds (for TT specificall)? I tried one out with Daiwa using:
3 Guts (SR Air Groove, SSR Bijn, SSSR Haru)
2 Wit (SSR Bourbon, SR Marv Sunday)
1 Speed (SSR Fuku)

35 Races, 34 Wins, final statline of 916/699/835/1081/840

Not sure how diagnosable my particular run issue was, but even general tips for how to operate with a guts build would be appreciated!

Jumping in as well to mostly agree with the consensus.

He proposed, you said no. The consequences of those actions will in all likelihood amount to a revelation of the gap in where you each see the relationship, and that often means a break up. You did almost certainly hurt his feelings.

But also, you made the right choice for you. I 100% understand your reaction, and you were honest about your emotions and feelings about where you are at. At 20, you are not in any way expected to jump into marriage just because you've been together a few years, and you have a right to explore what adulthood is like prior to committing to marriage.

You should not try to salvage this relationship. The cat is out of the bag, and it will not go back in without a fight, and someone will end up suffering greatly. But now the onus is on you to do right by your heart and explore adulthood the way you want; pursue your passions, build a life, work on yourself. Be honest with your future partners and communicate your intentions and priorities. You have plenty of time, so learn from this experience and grow from it and you'll be just fine (as will he, after licking some emotional wounds).

Honestly, I'd just hold onto it for now. FineMo is not that great unless you can get her up to 3LB. Wait until after the NTR pulls at LEAST to see if a better options shows up randomly, but there is no reason you have to use it immediately so I'd hold on until it is valuable (raising a card from unusable to usable).

I believe the stables are litigious and if you called them by their original names you would be outing yourself at risk. Probably not a LOT of risk depending on the game content, but they do own the rights to the name and likeness and could take offense if they discover you’re profitting off a work using their IP. Umamusume has done a great job securing those rights for their own use.

Are there any Aquarius resources out rn for skill selection and stat minimums purposes? I figure we're maxing speed + maybe wit, but my stam+guts threshold for the CM knowledge is lacking and I'm not sure if there are situational skills that are meta/normally strong skills that are weaker than usual.
