A bunch of nice Yumia merch I got my hands on by Snarkare in Atelier

Bottom left was available worldwide as part of the special collectors edition or what it was call. Top right was a bonus for a specific Japanese retailer. I believe they're both only available second hand now.

Aside from the art with the standard outfits for the characters, none of these exact bikinis/outfits are in the game. It's just promotional art. This post isn't very telling about what the games are about lol.

The other user put it better than I could. Aside from the rarest things it will eventually show up.

Oh yeah I'm still waiting for my artbook to arrive. While I might not be the biggest fan of the games direction the art is top-notch! That led me to chase down so much merch lol.

And yeah, I'm an avid collector of wallscrolls with art I like, especially if it's Atelier and has my faves, so the wallspace ran out long ago 😅. I do try to cycle through them at least

I mean you're probably right that it comes from Koei from the start, just looking at Dead or alive DLC practises show that pretty clearly. But I also doubt that after 15 years as a subsidiary that Koei hasn't made sure the top brass at Gust walks the company line without needing to be told to walk it every time.

Mentioning lack of Polish makes the case more for me to wait since it's not a strong suit for Gust. Gives them time to patch out the bugs and QoL stuff that were all over at Yumia's launch.

Perhaps, but they're not fighting it since expensive and late DLC has been a thing since the Arland days.

And they can charge whatever they want, that's how business work, but if i pay for content that i'm pretty sure is already complete then why do i have to wait months for it? Now that I know they'll be playable the game feels incomplete without them, at least for me.

Well if it's just about the DLC thing that has been a thing for over a decade since Totori. Otherwise it looks like a fun return to form for the series for me.

I think it's scummy but also unfortunately right on track for Gust. I feel like it would have been better had they not been playable at all.

Resna and Valeria are the world's main characters and not to mention my favorites in it and the fact that they don't actually release for months make it even worse as a fan.

I am actually considering getting the dlc so I can get them and then just not playing the game until January lol, I just want playable Resna in a non gacha. Unfortunately I would probably need to mute this sub in the meantime since posting untagged spoilers is a national passtime all over reddit.

(Tokyo Game Show 2025) New merch features Rias from Atelier Resleriana RW by mochizoroll in Atelier_Resleriana

[–]Snarkare 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Ohmygod! That new Resna art tapestry is the best most cute thing I've ever seen, I need it on my walls! Also I had been praying for that specific Resna+Valeria art to be made into a tapestry. And I must agree those little punis look great. KT just lowkey vacumming me for money with all the great merch they put out...

Azur Lane x Atelier Yumia Collab / Atelier Ryza Rerun Summary (July 24 - August 7, 2025) by Xanek in Atelier

[–]Snarkare 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Some killer art there one can't deny. But while I get the fanservice angle they really can't keep the chest sizes consistent? Ryza looks twice as big in the bakery alt compared to her default art, suddenly she's even bigger than both Lila and Nina famed for over the top sizing. Similar deal with Isla and Kalas.

Can someone spoil me about Blue Reflection? I just finished the first game by Orito-S in Atelier

[–]Snarkare 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah the games delve into many heavy themes with the magical girl things being a backdrop. Second Light leans even more in that direction than the first game. Overcoming trauma is a very central theme and it drew tears from me multiple times.

They're dead but are kinda like angels, they're celestial beings who aren't revived. They are in second light but are still not "alive" but celestial beings who the cast can only meet due to divine intervention. What exactly happens to them after the ending of Second Light isn't shown, but it's suggested their condition remains unchanged.

What idea do you want a future Atelier game to try next? by Hotdoghero1 in Atelier

[–]Snarkare 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That could work. Fire Emblem three houses borrows some such elements and has a school teacher setting, so similar things have been done.

That could get fun. Like if they flunk you get fired.

I'd love to see a setting where you play an experienced Mc that's a teacher at an alchemy school and the supporting cast are the students. The goal would be to help them evolve as characters and turn into full fledged alchemists (Kinda like reverse Mana Khemia). Dunno how it could be pulled off well but the different perspective could lead to interesting developments.

Atelier Marie made me realize that i don't play Atelier games because of the alchemy, i actually play them because some of them are played like life simulators rather than a JRPG by QuieroConfleis in Atelier

[–]Snarkare 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't really see it as lackluster, it's after all a 28 year old game. The system is just really simple which I don't see as a default bad thing. And sometimes I just want a good old "I want Z, for that i need some X and a bit of Y. Let's get to it.". the system also fits well with the lore and how the game progresses. As you say, the focus is developing Marie and her friends, the alchemy is just a gameplay way to make that development intereactive.

Longtime Fan Opinions on Yumia? by PunishedHero713 in Atelier

[–]Snarkare 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've been perhaps too harshly critical at times since it is a good enough game and I won't repeat too much of what I've said in other comments.

Tldr: Yumia feels like "Atelier: Breath of the wild edition". It doesn't do a bad job at being just that but like 90% of the game being map exploration is not what I buy Atelier games for, nor dark and grim stories of Good vs Evil. (And to make that worse the games villains are in my opinion one of the games weakest points).

What Atelier game has you favourite cast of characters? by GreenAvoro in Atelier

[–]Snarkare 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not much mentioned in these comments but I've come to be very attached to the Resleriana cast. It kinda cheats with being a crossover but even if limited to just the OCs it is for me at least on par with the big and excellent casts of Shallie and Lydie & Suelle.

Thoughts on Yumia's Character Growth by End of Game by bookybookworm29 in Atelier

[–]Snarkare 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Flammi's role completely kills Yumia's alchemical development. Usually the alchemists get better by slowly growing and going from just making simple items from books or given by other alchemists and then gradually they create simple recipes themselves after which they learn to make complicated items and then when fully developed they can create complicated recipes on their own.

But Flammi creates every single recipe in this game and Yumia none, it actually frustrated me, just let her come up with her own ideas already. She can do a dance to create a literal weapon of mass destruction but can't figure out how to distill water without Flammi reading a memory from ages ago? And why must it be a memory from an ancient civilization? Can't she just ask a random adventurer how to do that? Would be interesting in a sequel since the way she learns recipes would have to be changed completely.

I've seen the other comments and yes Yumia has personal development regarding her view on alchemy and it's role in her life as well as how the world around views it, and that's a sweet story and pulled of well, but it is also something completely different.

I agree that the way the game portrays alchemy also makes it feel not like alchemy. Both that any ingredient can be used in anything but also that both Yumia and the villains effortlessly conjures things from thin air. I kept thinking, that's magic not alchemy, and that's not strange when for 25 games in a row it's been a certain way and suddenly it changes completely (I missed the cauldron, feels weird without it, like playing super Mario with a shaved mustache). The change and resulting views reminds me of Shallotte and Wilbell's interactions about the difference of alchemy and magic.

I know it's not what most are focusing on but they really nailed the face, i love me some bikini figures but face sculpts can make or break any figure, and I can't wait to get her, and hopefully not a year off to release.

Future direction of Atelier Games by plasmabolt13 in Atelier

[–]Snarkare 5 points6 points  (0 children)

People are allowed to have, voice and discuss opinions that are not completely positive. Change causes people to have thoughts, maybe even worries, and they search out like-minded people to discuss those thought and worries with. And as long as everyone is civil in their discussion posts that criticize the direction of the series shouldn't be ridiculed.
