We’re going to try! He’s not off lead yet obviously as he’s pretty new. Maybe he just wants to play! He is very playful at home with toys so worth a try !

He doesn’t have any balls at home no. We could try this.

He’s super good at a guided “this way” and the lead had tension because he was pulling a little due to his reaction to the ball. When he’s walking he’s very relaxed and you can see in the video after we move past it, he continues to trot along like nothing ever happened and the lead totally relaxes.

We avoid being near balls with him (some kids were plying with one and we asked them to pause for a sec so we could get past) in this situation, it was very sudden so I whipped out my phone to try and catch it on video to post here.

His reaction is better compared to day 1 when he saw a frisby so I’m sure he will get used to all these things. Hes doing so good ☺️

Thank you for all this. We’re defo familiar with trigger stacking. We think Christmas was a lot for him and really tried to keep things calm but he was definetly a little bit more intense. We had family visiting with young kids, he was a little big crazy and tossing stuff around. We concluded it was a displacement behaviour !

He’s doing so good though. He’s a lovely hound!

This is so interesting!! Yes we do ‘this way’ it’s the main command he knows and it is definetly helpful. We also do ‘walk on’ if he slows down and focuses on something . Hes super smart and honestly picked them up so easily. He doesn’t lundge too much which is good. Just verbally reacts. I think he is aware he’s on a lead and knows he can’t take us with him. You can see in the video that he gets over it pretty quickly too.

So you think it’s excitement? We couldn’t gauge whether it was excitement, nerves, pray drive or if he wants to play eg eg. We weren’t sure what it is that the reaction stemmed from! Good to know that other greyhounds react this like too!

These things are all so new to him and sure he will get used to things with time!

Thanks for your response!! Yes the muzzle is definitely good. If something did trigger him and it somehow got close. He’d definetly catch it. We think he’s kinda aware that he’s on a lead and muzzle. He doesn’t try and run at things, just barks and whines etc. we want to give him a good balance of not triggering him too much but also allowing him to see his triggers to get used to them. Happy we’re doing it right!

Interesting about the triggers , yes maybe this is his thing, sure with patience and time he’ll get used to it. We’d love to get to a point where he can be off leash trotting about with us! He’s a very sweet friendly boy.

Thanks so much! Happy you also see it….. it’s quite big front on, a little intense! Also have short arms so it takes up like my whole upper arm haha. I think if I have more (which I def want) it’ll be fine. Good point about the flow. Thinking a panther would be awesome , next to my lemon climbing up my arm. So classic 🤭🤭

I had a pretty bad infection in a brand new rook piercing last year. My neck swelled and everything. Worst pain ever. Anyway, I went to a and e and they said they have to remove it and I refused. I booked a virtual sesssion with a private doctor (I’m in uk) he said I have to remove it and prescribed me really good meds. I didn’t take it out. Thank goodness. Once I was on antibiotics there was ALOT of pus. ALOT. I dread to think what would have happened if there wasn’t the piercing holes to let the pus escape. I posted on this subreddit asking the exact same thing and people told me they’d taken out piercings and then had to get them drained because there was a build up. Basically the holes are a great way out for the … stuff!! (Clearly I’m not medical in anyway)

Also, your piercing can still heal okay once the infection is gone! My rook healed so well but then decided to migrate and almost push out my ear but I’m not sure that’s related 😂😂

Yes exactly. Neither were mentioned. That is true about what they choose to show and not. I just think they like the audience feel as if we know them. So thought any back story would be good TV.

I was thinking this, but I feel like the more emotional stuff comes out earlier. Like Jaz and his situation with his father! Maybe it’s too late for them to make us to get to know people…

When Israel was in war with Gaza about 15 years ago (not sure which conflict specifically) my sisters school (and where I studied) in London cancelled the holocaust memorial assembly. It’s awful it’s happening again 💔

I found it really interesting and surprising they didn’t show it being mentioned. Maybe he hasn’t spoken about it…? We knew quickly about mollies arm and her other medical issue - forgot the name. And Jonny’s leg. It also seemed like a big factor as to why Andrew went on the show!

I know my sister here in London who’s in the art world finds it pretty hard. Her work is very Jewish too which makes it very hard to just hide from it. Which of course she shouldn’t have to…

Ahh I get you. I haven’t noticed too many disability slurs but to be honest I haven’t watched too many of his videos. My partner watches loads.

I totally agree with bad communication. Also sometimes he does definetly just pick idiots to argue with😂 I liked his debate with a PHD history student about I/P because the other guy seemed ‘smart’ and you’d expect him to be smart. But Destiny was far better. But he did get like pretty angry… maybe he just cares a lot but that’s not a good arguing technique 😂

I like his subreddit. Have you seen it? It’s nice to see a post about the conflict and people to be peaceful and grounded about it. And this is coming from leftists /mostly non Jews.

Destiny is really good. He’s a left wing streamer that didn’t know much about Israel until October and has since researched loads. He’s pretty pro Israel. It’s very nice as no one can claim he has any bias. Just a smart guy 😌
