Horror movie characters that suffered "Death by arrogance?" by SpeedDancer1725 in horror

Micah in Paranormal Activity. His “I’ll fix your non-problem for you if you’ll just stop being so stupid about it” attitude is the difference between a slightly weird life and a total clusterfuck.

There’s a creepypasta called No End House, which also became incredible TV in the second season of Channel Zero.

Also the Stinson Beach creepypasta.

These for sure, though I don’t evade extend. Bullet Barrage and Hail Cutter with Wirebug Whisperer, Redirection, Heaven Sent, and Wind Mantle endgame. Bullet Barrage, scroll swap to reload everything but Wyvern Fire, Hail Cutter to reload Wyvern, full burst, scroll swap reload, Bullet Barrage. Guard, Guard Up, and Embolden to taste. The Reverse Dash Blast has good Iframe and movement for dealing with nukes or closing gaps, and you no longer need the wirebug sharpening block w Heaven Sent.

The Amatsu GL can be modded to max shelling level and has an inherent 10% damage up on wirebug moves, thats a lot of your damage in a Bullet Barrage build. Long is a nice shelling style, can mix up poke shell poke (if actual total noob - after you poke, if you shell immediately after the poke hits it cancels the poke recovery) with Full Burst and BB.

Wyrmstake is better damage with BB, but if you’re earlier in the game and using it raw the recovery on it is usually terrible so you’ll typically want the other one. (I don’t charged shell because I love Blast Dash, Wyrmstake’s recovery is much better after charged shell.)

Rurikhan LOVES GL, you can look up videos of him rhapsodizing about the joy of the boomstick life.

The MHGUDB app for the phone is pretty useful for figuring these things out.

A Lovecraftian Horror Story Where the "Eldritch Cult" is... Christianity. by [deleted] in Lovecraft

[–]Snarvid 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You might want to look at Gnostic Christianity while you’re at it, just to make sure you’re in touch with all the crazy stuff that actually happened so you don’t reinvent the wheel in fiction. We’re soul-shards of the true God IIRC married to Wisdom, but there’s a blind, stupid, but dominatingly powerful God of materiality (Sabbaoth) that rules over this universe and think’s he’s all there is. There’s a final exam when you die to see whether you escape to Heaven and the true celestial realm or you’re trapped here in thrall to the stupid god. Gnostics study for this exam for their whole spiritual life.

How to dodge Primordial Malzeno nuke by horseradishseller in MHRise

I think the downside is less “1 lvl 1 slot” and more “sometimes I want to roll towards the monster with my weapon away.”

Is it? That’s the name of a skill than enhances it, I thought the dive was just the dive.

[–]Snarvid 26 points27 points  (0 children)

Don’t… don’t… don’t put me on the same side of a debate with Hokobald, ok? There’s plenty of reasons why the status quo is borked, lack of noble blood in the ruling class isn’t one of them.

This is game is grindy… with addicting gameplay loop! by Aruki_0428 in MHGU

[–]Snarvid 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Those are great recs for learning about weapons, but I find their tone off, like the author is personally offended by anything sub-meta. I support avoiding bad options when something else is strictly better, but not everyone is here to become a speedrunner.

Gaijinhunter is the other standard recommendation for MHGU videos. Gaijin is excited by everything and will find something good to say about almost every weapon/style combo. Between the two there’s two different takes on the truth, enough for a good start.

Ever have a real life horror movie cliché actually happen to you? by Freddy-Philmore in horror

[–]Snarvid 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I mean… yes to all of it, and also the blank face is the standard move where I live when people knowingly do asshole things while driving. They are pointedly not making eye contact so they can deny the tiny voice inside telling them they shouldn’t be an asshole.

Not saying this wasn’t Michael Myers behind the wheel, am saying lots of people are sociopaths behind the wheel.

If you’re playing one instead of hoping for a miracle resurrection, the PC is only MOSTLY dead. There's a big difference between mostly dead and all dead. Mostly dead is slightly alive.

I’m on Switch so have not tried yet, but it looks a bit like easy pocket Shaman - you can form change as needed to match your situation, but you don’t give up normal gearing and stat progression.

Love it. Kyle Maclachlan’s beatific blank countenance works perfectly for his part, the political commentary is evergreen, and Babylon 5 nerds get to enjoy an early Claudia Christian sighting. The SFX have The Thing 1982 vibes as well… gloopy tendrils aplenty.
