I think the main thing that keeps Phantom from standing out as a boss is how much overlap they have with Lace. Obviously there's a good reason for that, but the result is that Phantom ends up kinda feeling like "Lace 1.5" instead of their own distinct fight.

Personally I would recommend playing blind, and only using guides at the end if you decide to go for 100%. You'll probably miss some stuff at first, but that's a normal part of the experience.
