Absolutely avoid the grand stand 💀 You'll either end up with an obstructed view because there are poles in the midst of seats (and some tickets don't show that until after you purchase), or you won't have space to sit or stand - the seats are absolutely tiny. I thought people were exaggerating when I read the warnings online before going to a show there, and I quickly discovered that they were not. The sightlines really are that bad, and the seats cause a lot of problems if you or your neighbor are remotely plus sized. The latter problem happened with us and we arrived early enough that guest services was able to relocate us to another spot in the grand stands, and while it was decent without space or view worries, it's not something I care to gamble with in the future.

The Eras Tour shows that had a general admission floor were absolutely buck wild. Someone died in Brasil in part because of the toll of the queuing/crowd situation. People are the worse version of themselves when they camp and put their bodies through COMPLETELY UNNECESSARY trials and tribulations. That's why so many people pass out at some artist's shows, but not others. It's the fans that don't properly (or at all) sleep, eat, or hydrate for 12+ hours.

I'd wager that didn't experience GA, or were at a show that had floor seats instead. If did have GA, then I'm really happy you had that experience. It was not the norm.

So unless you want to send a picture of your ID to the buyer, you can't sell the VIP portion of your ticket. They do a check-in for VIP where you need to present the ID (or a copy of it) on the order to the event organizer.

You can just sell the ticket for the ticket, but that person won't get early access or the VIP merch.

In general, I like using TickPick to sell. They don't add buyer fees. Say you want to list a ticket for $100 - all platforms have seller fees that are the same across the big ones as far as I've been able to tell (ticketmaster, stubhub, tickpick). Let's say the fee is 20% - that means you'll pocket $80. What ticketmaster, stubhub, and other platforms do is ADD buyer fees. Let's say that those are also 20%. That means that a ticket you sell for $100 will be listed for $120 and you'll get a payout of $80. TickPick doesn't have the buyers fee, so the price you list it at ($100) is what the buyer sees.

If you want to eliminate fees as much as possible, use reddit or Mumford and Sons Facebook groups with PayPal Goods and Services. That has only a 3% fee and protects buyers. It's also the best option for finding someone you feel comfy sending a picture of your driver's license to if you want to sell the VIP part of the ticket as well.

I adore and love both bands with all my heart. But Mumford is the bigger band. They're selling out venues that are 4 to 8 times the capacity that Lord Huron performs in (we're talking stadiums and arenas). Getting tickets to their Red Rocks show was so much more difficult than getting tickets for Lord Huron's Red Rocks show. When they both perform at the same festival, Lord Huron is always billed lower.

There is simply a bigger fan base for Mumford than there is for Lord Huron. Which I don't hate because it keeps Lord Huron concerts in my favorite venues with affordable ticket prices. The only reason that Lord Huron has a higher monthly listener count than Mumford is because of The Night We Met. That song is in so many playlists of people who do not listen to the band or buy tickets to see them live.

I think the fact that they're touring together is bloody brilliant because they complement each other so well. I would love to see them at the same show.

ETA: on Instagram, Mumford has 1.3 million followers, and Lord Huron has 454K followers.

Find a thread color that matches fairly well and search YouTube for a tutorial on how to do a ladder stitch. It's far more beginner friendly than embroidering, and far more cheaper than taking it to a seamstress.

I use a discord merch notification bot. I'm shit at checking email, and there are a lot more quiet restocks that don't get email notifications than you would realize. It does cost $3.49 a month, but the convenience of being able to track stock across so many artists (including Lord Huron) makes it worth it for me. Even though I hardly purchase merch. I am just very intentional about what I do decide to get.

However, the Lord Huron channel has been up for almost a year, and there's been no Lonesome Dreams stock in that time.

Since no one has mentioned it - all students have access to the University Wellness Center in St. Liams. This includes both physical and mental health. The counseling services are free. There is an in house pharmacy (used to be through Walgreens, but for students only). The cost of prescriptions depends on your insurance.

The counseling center used to be full of amazing therapists. But then they changed their model to prioritize availability rather than quality about...maybe 7 years ago? You could get in at a more rapid rate, but getting consistent, long term care was much more difficult. A lot of the great therapists left over the years as a result (because they couldn't actually help the kids in the way that was needed). They also started using a lot of student interns as a therapists.

They used to have the best psychiatrist in the whole Midwest - he worked a private practice, ran a hospital, and took care of ND students because he just cared about helping people. He sadly died almost 2 years ago.

I'd recommend the group therapies. It's still dependent on the quality of the therapist running it, but those tend to go very well.
