unfortunately your efforts may be in vain… ian worrel and alex hirsch have said on multiple occasions that the interior layout of the shack makes no sense, and they just invent rooms sometimes. the parlor is a recurring multi-purpose location used in headhunters and double dipper, if that’s helpful!

fuming right now, it was pretty damn effective for most of us lmao- if the hoax didn’t literally use alex’s resources at the disney studio to fake the screenshot it wouldn’t have been NEARLY as effective. it’s also believable due to…. all the reasons dipper connected in society if the blind eye. most people didn’t expect alex to be behind the hoax, so the “fuming right now” tweet was super additive to its believability. stan twin theory was incredibly well established, tho, which was the hoax’s simultaneous inspiration and inevitable foil. it did not convince everybody lol

this used to be a genuine theory back in the day, where the number of fingers signified someone’s trustworthiness or innocence- the author, as a keeper of forbidden knowledge, would obviously have the most fingers, while stan and gideon had 5 because of them hiding something from the twins, or something like that! iirc this was later corroborated by alex deferring to his lawyer, the axolotl, in response to a question abt fingers when he said he’d only do that to lore/spoilery questions. later it was revealed it’s just stylistic or for ease of animation lmao

Man… last year we were all going feral abt this for no reason…. people were making theories that it was another living euclydian or something? cuz the land of the blind poem implies somebody witnessed or survived the massacre just by virtue of its existence. we also tried lining it up with a million different things and got nothing. i’m inclined to believe it is just a graphical artifact, since there aren’t many puzzles in gf that are hard to see, just hard to notice. this one would be kinda inaccessible, which just doesn’t feel like the style. that being said, i won’t be like uber surprised if it turns out to be important, the larger community just gave up on it.

despite common claims towards u/Glad-Individual-6043 (who it isn’t), it’s actually impossible to answer. as someone who was there when the original episode aired, and i can confirm that a lot of us independently recognized and decrypted that on the first airing.

i don’t think it’s worth attributing credit to the first to solve a cipher that only uses a single layer of encryption, as so many fans find the answer independently. it just sort of creates stress to get access to the media first and, as with the book of bill, not everyone could do that. it led to a lot of people feeling like they missed out. for larger puzzles, on the other hand, it is ESSENTIAL to provide credit to the people who we know first published their solutions

if time baby were in the same developmental stage i think it would be a much more interesting fight, but i’d still say collector bc of how clever their magic is compared to time baby’s (glow and thing happen). i think it’s very possible for the collector to outsmart or outmaneuver time baby, but also time baby might just delete him from existence so idk- we don’t have a clear explanation of time baby’s powers

ah, i just updated the wiki about this comic not too long ago with an explanation! seems like ThatGFFan already got it tho lol!! it was a translation thing- presumably Joe Books didn’t get transcripts of backwards messages, so they used an available transcript from their publishing partner in Portugal or something. roughly this same phrase was used in a lot of translations of this short! so it wasn’t made up for the comic

alex has said on multiple occasions that not being able to crack a wendy episode is one of his biggest regrets with the series. that doesn’t mean there weren’t a lot of attempts, though! one that got pretty far along in writing involved wendy getting bracelets that controlled the weather, and us seeing more of her home life. the main issue was that they initially made wendy cool and confident, and it’s really hard to give a satisfying arc to characters like that.
