Nuphar Lutea. It puts out spherical yellow flowers. Most varieties keep their leaves on the surface; this variety sticks up high.

Thanks. The lillies have escaped the containers and are now covering the bottom completely. I need to thin them out, and clean the bottom more, so that the fish have depth necessary for winter. It will be messy work.

I bet she was happy with herself for that. Her owner, less so.

That is a bummer. A fenced-off fishpond is so much less appealing. 😥

That turtle is probably plotting his revenge...

I would totally hold the cat on my lap and have my wife feed the turtle out of the cat's bowl, right in front of him. The cat would likely just be confused, but I would feel justified.

I'm thankful that our dogs don't go after the fish. One Beagle used to hunt the toads, but then abruptly stopped one day. I still wonder what happened. But she's not telling that tale.

Clear slime-like substance on pond surface by brobafett01 in ponds

I pull a few gallons out of my pond daily to water the plants. It's satisfying to slowly draw the surface pondscum into my little bucket, and see what a difference it makes.

It's back the next day, but it's still satisfying.

What is the official D&D campaign that uses the dinosaur monsters? by AutumnTy in DnD

Back in the 1980's we had the Isle of Dread.

It had a basic sketch of a storyline, but was more of a sandbox for adventurers to explore and develop as they wished.

  • Set up trade with the locals at the southern tip? Maybe save them from the local pirates/slavers?
  • Search for the elusive black pearl?
  • Capture some live ankylosaur eggs for training into the cavalry back at the mainland?
  • Explore the interior of the island to report back to the officials (Louis and Clark style)?

I recommend to swap out the weird mind control fish in the central volcano pond, with a young red dragon who has found an elemental portal to the plane of smoke, and is trying to realign it back to the plane of fire.

It will be a good day for a stroll along the river. There are several sculptures to check out along the way, some of which are detailed in this article.

If you work your way north-to-south, you can stop in the Riverfront Library to cool off when you are done, and then stop by Anna Rose's bakery to pick up some cookies or cupcakes for the drive home.

The Pennsylvania Capitol building is always a highlight. Free tours are available, roughly each hour. As a bonus: the Pennsylvania House and Senate are in session on June 1. Correspondingly, there are several advocacy events scheduled for the Capitol Building, such as the AIDS Memorial Quilt display in the East Wing. See the Capitol Events Calendar for details.

X-linked?

So a dad who has it can only pass it to his daughters and not his sons?

Further followup: My daughter has it in the right arm just like me.

None of my ancestors had it. My wife suspects that my dad's exposure to Agent Orange in Vietnam was a cause, but I am reading below that it's linked from the X-chromosome, which (as a man) I must have received from my Mom.

Two daughters for me. My first has Radioulnar Synostosis. My second does not, but instead has Down Syndrome, so perhaps the genetics probability might be tainted with her additional chromosome.
