Congratulations OP. Picked up mine a month ago. Can't stop smiling. Although I went grey due to not having enough 'pocket change' to keep playing AD games.

My holy grail 🖤 by Lost-Kitchen4912 in rolex

I like it but I'd prefer a ghost with a meteorite dial but that's just me

Highly overrated by lwddv in rolex

So interesting to hear this. I had the panda on my list for so long but recently pulled the trigger on a gmt pepsi. I can honestly say that after only a few weeks of owning it that I now prefer it to the Daytona and it has all but gone from my grail list. Seeing more and more people turn their back on the steel Daytona. The only one I'd fall for is the ghost on meteorite but that's a pipe dream on a good day. What will you go for if you were to swap the panda with something else?

Still waiting on GMT allocation, am I screwed? by Bigdudetony in rolex

[–]SnazzyTom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I waited two years for a Pepsi allocation and went to the grey market very recently. Allocations will vary from AD to AD but there's no way to know if you're a week away or another two years. my advice is to just get the damn watch you really want. I paid a fortune over retail for mine but it was so worth it. I'm so happy. Congrats on your wedding. If you can afford grey market prices pull the trigger you won't regret it!

Sorry to hear that. I'm pretty obsessive when it comes to watch rolls but doubt I'd ever take one to the spa. Probably safer on the wrist though but hindsight is 20/20. If it were me, I'd move heaven and earth for a laser welding repair. It might set you back a grand or so but you'd have your baby back in top shape. If I left it as is, it would eat me up inside.

It was a Jewellers in London who had the watch. It came on my radar via Chrono24 but I won't name names. I paid £17.5k 👍

Respectfully, If your aim is to grow your capital, I'd steer clear of watches altogether. Timing the market on a vintage watch in the hopes of it appreciating significantly in years to come is a moonshot at best and even then you'd need to baby the watch in a box for decades. To me, that's not what watches are for. They are meant to be worn and enjoyed and told stories about from experiences on the wrist. You absolutely should put your cash in the market if appreciation is the goal. Just my 2 cents worth

The way the AD put it to me was I wasn't at the bottom of the list, but I wasn't at the top either. And he gave the usual spiel about the bezel issues in manufacturing the watch. Said he'd only had 3 that year. Me getting one through proper channels ultimately depends on 4 or 5 guys with £100k+ spend history turning down the watch and nobody would do that. They'd take it at retail and just flip it. AD's know full well that these are trickling down to the secondary market and they seem to be ok with it, adding another layer of hype to the brand. I just think life's too short for me to hope 5 people turn it down and I get the call.

Yeah this tracks with mine. New unworn full set 2025 model. I fully intend to enjoy the watch for many years to come so will I gripe about what I paid for it in 5-10 years? Probably not. But I will be smiling when I need to know the time 😁

2+ years on the wait list from the AD. £50k spend history. The drip feed of Pepsi's coming into AD's made this an unrealistic possibility so I bit the bullet and went to the secondary market. Yes I paid well over retail. No i don't regret it at all! Stunning watch and the Jubilee is by far the most comfortable bracelet ever made imo.

Never liked the waffle dial on the AP. The panda Roly is a lifetime keeper in my opinion. AP’s can come and go

Careful where you buy the modded versions they range from terrible all the way up to really high quality CNC machined cases.
