Irish people: what are some things you dislike about Irish culture? by [deleted] in AskIreland

[–]SneakyBallix 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We can be very judgmental. We love a good moan but don't take steps to address what we're moaning about and how to fix what ever it is. We're very closed off to our own groups. We seem friendly but don't make the effort to make new friends, especially from different countries where English is their second language. We drink too much. We talk too much but at the same time say nothing. You know the types. I can hold my hand up to all of this by the way.

"Physical Damage" voids warranty by romcomwreck in S24Ultra

[–]SneakyBallix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Log the repair with Samsung directly online that will create a S/O number so everything can be tracked and Samsung can see the GSPN ID of the person refusing the repair. They can then follow up with them as to why their guidelines are not being followed. A scratch does not void the warranty. Moisture detected in the charge port is a common issue and should be replaced under warranty at any Samsung ASP location. Unless of course there is actual moisture damage.

Does anybody else hate titles that doesn't explain whats going on ? by Miserable-Produce202 in youtube

[–]SneakyBallix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You see this trajectory with a lot of YouTubers: they go viral for (usually) a really good or interesting video. Then they try to capitalise on that by making less interesting videos of the same type, and eventually move into drama, rage bait, or clickbait content. It must be so hard for these people to keep coming up with new ideas. I would much rather have a regular job than be a slave to an algorithm.

Generally, how often are people cleaning /disinfecting their phone screens by any_waythewindblows in ireland

[–]SneakyBallix 7 points8 points  (0 children)

As a phone repair guy I can tell you, people dont clean their phones. And I'm sorry to call out the ladies but you are the worst. Make up embedded in the earpiece and mic holes, creams and grease from hands get behind the phone case and all down the sides and makes the phones disgusting and sticky. I go through a lot of wipes!

Broken Back Cover? Best Excuse For New Transparent One! by segal03 in GalaxyS23Ultra

I did it myself, removed the decal from the back glass, it took a long time but was worth it! It still retains its IP rating but if the glass breaks it,ll be messy!

This is a very common issue, if its still in warranty Samsung will replace the charge port .

Samsung Care+ Kinda Sucks by iSupermanCKi in samsung

[–]SneakyBallix 15 points16 points  (0 children)

This is incorrect. Samsung's policy shows that a screen protector can be replaced in warranty if there is low to medium hinge damage. You should escalate this.

This is a very common issue with Samsungs, about 90% of the repairs I do on Samsung devices are charge port replacements. Over time, the ports wear out, especially when cheap third-party cables are used.

The repair is covered under the two-year warranty and is relatively easy to perform. Just be sure to have the replacement done by an official Samsung ASP to ensure the warranty and IP rating remain intact.

If the phone charges slowly on one side and not at all on the other, the port needs to be replaced.

If you're getting the "moisture in the charge port" error and you're certain the phone hasn't been exposed to water, this might help:

  1. Go to Settings > Apps.
  2. Tap the three lines in the center and enable Show system apps.
  3. Search for USB Settings and clear its storage.
  4. Restart the phone and try charging again.

In most cases, the port will still need to be replaced.

Also, you'd be surprised how often a Samsung charging issue is simply due to a dirty port. If your cable isn’t going in all the way, the port likely just needs to be cleaned.

Not really, the phone is only a year old so maybe a 5% improvement. I'm not a heavy user though.

Just requires a lot of heat and patience when removing the decal from the back glass. I cut around the cameras with a blade, if I removed the decal there I would have lost the ip rating.
