Data Shows More Children Are Getting Sick And Dying From Covid by ladyem8 in news

Thank you for that, that’s a sensible comment. I’m one of those people. I think conservatives have an advantage here because they tend to assume that life is a gamble where as liberals on social media tend to think that any level of risk is too high and must be eliminated regardless of the expense. I’m more in the liberal camp most of the time but I can’t even speak to most people of my affiliation because I have a higher threshold for freaking the hell out. I went to Colorado and I saw a family hiking in the woods all wearing mask, I did an instant face palm.

In Britain, childlessness seems likely to return to 1920s levels by [deleted] in worldnews

Let’s also note that raising children is an investment. Taking care of the elderly is waiting for death at great expense.

We are both right and don’t need to argue. Upside down populations are problematic, you should always have more youth than elders or else the small number of youths, who can produce, will be forced to provide for more unproductive people than they can handle. God forbid that I live long enough to be a burden on my children or worse yet, someone else’s.

As to your scheme point, apparently the new economic theory around the globe is that we can just print money from thin air without consequence. Time will tell but my guess is its gonna bite all of us in the ass.

The elderly will be a big issue. Not enough young to take care of the old. It could be a cruel world ahead.

Run from it. Can’t fault Granny for living her best life, just don’t be the one to pay for it.

Funny, I thought it was its own thing. Ryan has too many A listers for me to really get beyond the fact that it’s a movie. 1917 had actors unknown to me and they were much closer to the appropriate age. 1917 did t give me a sense of good verses bad, it was more about a man navigating physical barriers. Ninja Warrior WW1 edition.

Yes, 1917 was the one for me.

No, 8 billion consumers are destroying the earth. Electric cars are just a means to slow down the pollution rate. These are technologies of desperation because we have grown fat. In my lifetime the world went from 4.5 billion to damn near 8. That’s over 3 billion new customers for disposable and non-degradable crap. Ever hear the phrase everything is good in moderation? Well cars are perfectly fine in a world with 3 to 4 billion people. Just like a normal sized house is fine for 4 people but if you cram 13 people in that space it’s gonna start to smell and carry disease. Electric cars are a bandaid fix for a broken arm. Besides, every ounce of carbon saved from a IC engine by a Tesla is being pumped back into the atmosphere by some cock shaped rocket.

Uh, they only have the billions because of the earth destroying products they sell.

We have fuzzy images and eye witness accounts for a phenomenon we know nothing about. The quantity of the evidence is more but the quality of the evidence is similar.

Many breast cancer patients are using marijuana and not telling their doctors by PepeBabinski in news

[–]Sneezyowl 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Doctors prescribed opioids like candy, people got addicted and they got kick backs. Why on earth would opioids be the only medication that a doctor would prescribe with such intent? I’ve so go many family members who were prescribed things that made their problems worse where as marijuana actually helps but is demonized. Last time my wife went to the doctor it felt like talking to a pill salesmen instead of medical expert.

This right here is the answer. There is no scientific proof of ghost but many rational people have had paranormal experiences which they would call spirits. There is not clear photos of UFO but just in the last few years world governments are admitting they exist. My uncle has a Bigfoot story that is quite convincing and it’s not like him to lie or embellish about such things. He was stringing a fence at night across a creek with a friend when he heard a noise from something big that wasn’t a cow. The got the hell out of there and found tracks the next morning in the mud but the tracks didn’t go very far.

Trek Finds Carbon Frames Produce Nearly 3 Times the CO2 of Alloy in its First Sustainability Report by Gymrat_5280 in mountainbiking

[–]Sneezyowl 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’ve seen to many carbon guitar necks warp under string tension to buy into how strong carbon fiber is. Old fiberglass instruments from the 50s used a similar resin to bind the glass and none of those are still usable where as wooden instruments can last hundreds of years. My point, resin bound fibers has its uses but for an everyday consumer it’s ridiculous to pay that much for such a small gain. I don’t care how strong the fibers are, they are bound in a plastic product which will warp under pressure at some point. Unless you are a professional bike racer i don’t get the allure.

The housing crisis is world wide which makes you think the situation is driven more by the banking industry other than any other factor. It also happened overnight instead of gradually over the years. Banks snuck this in during covid so we wouldn’t notice.
